Was just wondering how much everyone sleeps per day and in what kind of pattern. Seven to eight hours per night is supposed to be the average but Ive talked to several sz who say they sleep ten hours or more. Do sz just need more sleep than the average person and is it med related?

I need 8 or 9 hours. Anything more or less than that makes me feel like crap haha.

I'm not on any sedating meds (no antipsychotics). I sleep 4-5 hours, if I'm lucky. 3-4 on average.

My sleep varies a lot. When I'm manic it is either none at all for a few days or only a few hours each night.

On a usual night lately 8 hours or a little more.

Some times I go through phases where I literally sleep nearly all day and night, but that's generally when I'm depressed or have a lot going on.

im on meds right now. taking sleep meds and anxiety meds. every once and awhile my AP. so im getting 10 hours about. per day.

if i dont take my meds ill get about 4-5. sometimes none.

i dont really need 10 hours of sleep. the meds just knock me out. i wake up a lot in the middle of the night but i just go back to sleep cuz its not like theres anything to do in the middle of the night. my sleep can vary too.

I'm on two typical AP's and I sleep between 10-12 hours. Though if I have to be up to go somewhere or do something I really need about 10. The extra hours are me lying in bed with nothing to do than doze!

Between 9 and 10 hours. That's natural slumber.

I normally sleep 7 - 8 hours/night. For a while I only sleep an hour or two/night and then I went to the other extreme and started sleeping 8 at night and a couple hours in naps. I think I do best at 7 hours. Right now I'm getting less than that and I'm feeling crappy. I think I need to get a Seroquel increase.

At the moment I am sleeping about 11 hours at night. My mind tells me I need to full 11 hours but I suspect that isn't the case... it's just that I feel tired a bit more easily at night & first thing in the morning.

I sometimes take naps too, although I don't actually sleep just rest. They seem to have been getting less commonplace since I switched meds, which is promising.

I would say that my longer sleeping hours, early bed time & naps are all down to medication. Maybe not directly from sedation though but rather from low dopamine in part of my brain. At least that's my theory.

If I don't take zopiclone 7.5mg sometimes even two or more of them I won't sleep.
I can go for days without and its horrible. Not even my quetiapine which is at a fairly high dose now, knocks me out and its supposed to be quite sedating.
So without drugs, i'd say id probably get half an hour or so of sleep. I feel make without zopiclone etc
