Possible trigger here. I am on my phone so if someone adds the trigger sign thingy, that's fine.

So anyways, I went swimming a few days ago and when I came above the water I swear I saw a floating dead body. This person was wearing a soaked beige-coloured T-shirt. I don't know what pants or shorts they were wearing, but.

I turned away and the body was gone. I mentally started to worry because I worry a lot with my GAD and stuff. I thought they might have gone back underwater but then I thought that I might be hallucinating so I went back swimming.

Now I am worried that there might have been a body and that the cops will go there and try to figure out who saw it and I left where I was (we were camping) and I'm scared that they'll think I murdered this person, even though I don't think there was a person.

I don't know if this should be concerning or not but.

I don't know what I want to ask about from people here but just say this to vent for people who relate to this. Thanks for reading First hallucination .

Visual hallucinations while they aren't uncommon are less likely...usually people start out hearing things....I'm wondering if you may have just seen someone floating and then as you said they went under water or somehow disappeared when you turned away? I don't mean to discount your experience just to potentially put you at ease if there is some other explanation....

I don't know. No one was wearing a shirt while swimming and it was only my family that went. At the time, it was only my siblings and I swimming with my dad and his gf on the beach.

I mean, the beach was basically empty because a storm was coming later that day and it was cloudy. No one else was swimming in the water near us but my siblings so that's why i thought it was hallucination.... maybe I was wrong but.

Thanks for the response First hallucination .

I wouldn't worry too much....if it starts happening repeatedly then I would go see a psychiatrist but before that I would get a medical workup, there are things like tumors or epilepsy that can cause hallucinations too....

i know my anxiety has caused all kinds of hallucinating in the past. most common is when driving. buildings on the side of the road exploding, trucks falling on top of me, massive nascar type crashes in front of me with the cars exploding into fire balls pieces flying every which way and me ducking to not be hit. it all seems very real but it disappears in an instant, just like your body. i got on buspar for anxiety and it hasnt happened since.
