Hello, I am 14 and have displayed symptoms. (4 visual hallucinations in this years, five little voices, etc)
I want to tell my family, and one of the voices does too, but I do not know how.
Slip a "we"? Just telling them? Speaking out loud?
I am so afraid to tell them. Will my own family mistreat me?
Hugs from:

Having a mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. You are not alone in what you are going through and there is always light at the end of the tunnel if you seek out the right kind of help. I don't know your parents personally, so I can't definitively say how they will react, but anybody who would decide to mistreat somebody just because they are going through a hard time is a truly heartless person. You should have nothing to worry about! Any loving parent would go to hell and back to help their child through a hard time. Telling my parents about my voices was the best decision I've ever made because keeping it quiet will only make matter worse. You can't get help if none of your loving supporters are aware of your struggles. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope you find inner peace and happiness very soon!!

Everyone I have told it to but one person have dismissed it as "stupid teen drama for attention seeking"
Excuse me?
I never did that. Those people believe that because I form a part of their circle, I am immune to mental illness.
They are so wrong...

I hope it goes well with your family. As a parent, I can tell you with 100% certainty that I would move heaven and earth to get them the help they needed.

If I told them about the voices, they would freak out

Do you have anybody that you can turn too? I'm asking because if you are in fact hearing voices, it's in everybody's best interest to get it out into the open so that you can receive professional care. Holding this in will only make matters worse. I wish you well and am sending all my positive energy your way

When my family first found out they were angry, but i think it was because they were upset at themselves, angry that they couldn't protect me from this. Give them time to understand that it is no one's fault and they will realise that the most they can do for you is to be there to support you. No matter what happens, family is always there, even if it might seem like theyre not. I know it's hard to say directly "hey ive been hearing voices" but you could ask them to see a doctor and explain the symptoms to the doctor or psychiatrist. And then the doctor will tell them what's going on, so it should be a bit easier for them and yourself that way. Im here to answer questions if i can .I hope this helps, and best of luck for you.

I have a special friend who knows, and I am OK with telling most people. But my family...I am terrified. Because I like this. I do not want the little emotion voices to go away!
It is not hearing, but other people thinking for me. As in, those are not my thoughts. Also there have been 4 hallucinations this years, delusions and disorganized speech, isolation.
Just probed, they still believe in THAT FREAKING STEREOTYPE!
