Seems like we are all going to die, so why not do it just to do it? I could die while doing it. But so? what if I do?

Guess I'll concentrate on the experience. Why not?

This girl invites me to stay at her place for a week. She is buying me a bus ticket to her place, lives 4 hours apart. I fear going due to some aspects of the situation but I will go. Even if the worst happens, so what? Life isn't forever. Even if bad things will happen while there, doesn't matter in actuality. Does that makes sense to you?

Not gonna attempt to hurt anyone though.

Life isn't forever but there are steps we can take to prevent it from happening prematurely. There's never a guarantee but putting yourself into a bad situation just because we'll eventually die doesn't make sense to me. I hope you have a wonderful time and nothing bad comes of it!

Yes life is not forever that is why we should use it wisely. Taking chances are always good but only after we think deeply about the consequences.

The late Chogyam Trungpa, a Tibetan Buddhist meditation teacher, told a story about the time when he, & others, were preparing to leave Tibet for India. Among them was an old monk who would often say: "Walk toward what scares you." Trungpa wrote that the last time he saw him, the old monk was walking toward China...

No, no no... This happened when the Dalai Lama & his followers were leaving Tibet for India due to the Chinese incursion into Tibet. The story is a kind of parable, if you will. Basically what it is saying is that we each have a choice. We can either hide from what scares us, or we can "walk toward it." This is something I struggle with in my own life... I would like to imagine that I am walking toward what scares me. But the cold, hard reality is I'm mostly hiding from it...
