Hello there...I am a 15 year old female...I just started high school in my country and here for the past 5 months I have been dealing with a serious problem...You see I tend to hear voices every single day.It wasn't that much of a problem before..But it sure is now...I hear them INSIDE of my head although sometimes I can HEAR them with my ears. But only a few words such as "never" "die" "kill" or even a yell. Most of the time though they tend to be internal.I repeat they are NOT my voice. They consist of a female voice with a british accent, who I call Mary, and a male voice I call Adonis.Adonis is really aggresive and mean to me and others. He tells me I'm a worthless person who was sent by him to kill as many as possible.I don't listen to him of course. But it makes it realy difficult for me to trust anyone.Mary is appearing much less than Adonis but she can make everything shake. It feels like the earth is moving, i tend to twitch my body parts (etc: head, palms)and have an extreme anger for no reason at all. They say I got to do what they tell me in order to survive.Adonis says he will hurt me and Mary tells me she'll posses me.Sometimes I tend to see Mary walk around in reflections of almost anything and even get a climpse of her in the corner of my eye. I often tend to confuse what's real and what's not..I feel lost.I have also never done drugs or have I ever done alcohol abuse.I just want help and answers...I am also scared of my parents finding out.The voices tell me that they'll hurt me and that they put someone to watch me.Spy on me.And kill me.I know they aren't real. But I can't take it anymore. Please please help me

You need to talk to a professional, a psychiatrist will be you best option, this may mean telling your parents you need help but you don't have to be specific.

You might want to check out the hearing voices network....they offer non medical coping strategies.

I kinda do want to but...I don't know, for sure if what is happening to me is a auditory hallucination..Sometimes I can hear them argue and fight and urge me to do things but for 97 percent of the time they are in my head...Only a few words can slip and be heard outside my head

Most of my voices started inside my head then at some point they switched to a few isolated things outside my head so I do think it's a hallucination although it sounds like your insight is still good if you can ignore them.

(Don't know if I'm sending this twice) Okay...Listen I can only ignore them VERY few times...All the other times they gain control over me and they say they posses me in order to punish me for not obeying them...Also I don't know if the things I'm seeing could be considered as a hallucination...For example, I am in the car with my parents and I'll see plenty of shadow people looking at the car passing by...They don't have a face but I can make out a body...The same happened with Mary...But she wasn't a simple shadow...Only her face was covered by darkness...And as for the voices...I can only reply when they are done talking and/or arguing...

Ok if they can possess you it's probably more like DID, dissociative identity disorder but again you need to see a pro, here is a forum that deals with that.....

Also I'm a bit confused because I've read that people often mix up anxiety with schizophrenia or any other disorder...So is it normal?!?! I'm worried...

We can't diagnose you. But no, I wouldn't say that was normal. I suggest you go to a psychiatric professional for advice. Good luck.

Thank you for the advice...I want to but I am honestly scared...I don't want to hurt my parents' feelings if they found out I have something wrong....

I'm sure, and I hope, your parents want the best for you. That includes getting appropriate medical attention. Having schizophrenia or some other condition doesn't mean your life has to be ruined. It's just another challenge, although a big one, to be sure. But we have no idea what could be the problem. The fact that you have a good amount of insight is a very hopeful sign.

My parents do want my best...But they just show it in a rather unusual way...For example the think I am lying when I say about the voices and yell but afterwards they apologize...But also the fact that I HAVE some insight about my problem could mean that I have nothing wrong..But that doesn't explain the voices...I have searched a bit on schizophrenia and I have all negative symptoms alongside the hallucinations part...Though the visual ones are mostly misreadings of the enviroment (I confuse things and see them as tall shadow people looking at me)...But..I am still aware of the symptoms..But lately the voices keep telling me to hurt others and that they sent me here to help them regain their place in the world (the female one says that) ...On the other hand the male one tends to be mean and tells me he'll kill me and that he is a serial killer...They both now often tell me to harm others and my self...It is really difficult for me to trust anyone now and I don't know IF something is even wrong with me...

If you ever feel as though you must carry out the wishes of the voices, please call 911 or go to a hospital emergency room. I hope you'll find a harmless resolution to your difficulties. Your parents seem like they're in denial about your complaints, but that's probably standard operating procedure for many parents.

I know they are only trying to help but...The voices inside my head are more than just thoughts...And here and the past month I have been hearing them almost every single day..I plan on going to a professional once I turn 18 and I'll be able to do it on my own but...I'm too scared because...I don't know what will happen between these 3 years...I'm honestly scared...

You need to see doctor or therapist about this soon, don't wait until you're 18, you need help if you're hearing voices and they're suggesting violence

Listen I really want to pay a visit but...Things are already complicated where I live...Psychiatric visits are usually paid a fortune and it's too much...I am also not sure if what I have been experiencing is part of puberty and will go away eventually...All I want now is to get some answers, ger rid of the voices and ,hopefully,be able to build my future and build my dream career...I don't want to feel like my future will be ruined anymore...I want to believe everything will go fine...

What country are you in? Unfortunately, wishing the voices away is almost certainly not going to work. The only thing that may help is talking to a qualified professional. You can still look forward to a great future, but it does not sound like these problems will just go away.

I live in Greece...Here the health system is pretty poor and you'll be lucky if you happen to find a good doctor...I am also pretty insecure about the whole thing with my parents...I'm afraid that even if they do listen to my complaint, they'll be mad at me....I am always scared of that...

Are you more afraid of your parents' reaction, or of potentially dying or harming someone else? I'd say that your parents' ephemeral reaction would be the least of your worries. You said it yourself, what might happen over the next 3 years if you don't see a doctor now?

Honestly I am scared of both...I really don't want to cause harm but...Once when I did my parents called a hotline in my country (which specifies with troubled teens and parents) and they said it's normal...I don't know anymore....
