I don't hear voices. Yet the doctor said I have a psychotic illness or something like that. Idk. I guess I'd like to know if anyone relates to this because I feel so alone in this.

In periods I cant go out on my own because I'm scared someone will kill me. And the walls have eyes and are watching me. does anyone relate to this?

I'm having a hard time believing that I'm psychotic because I don't think I am. I don't hear voices or hallucinate, I just dissociate and thoughts and feelings that aren't mine enters my mind. Idk how to describe it. The doctor wrote that I hear voices and may be halucinating. I don't think I am though. don't understand why he would write it if there werent some truth in it though?

It does sound strange that your doctor would write that you are getting hallucinations when you aren't.

However, a lot of what you have described are hallmarks of psychosis. I think all of us here have had paranoia or strange thoughts at times.

I've similarly worried about people trying to kill me. I used to get really paranoid going out to smoke at night when it was dark because of it.

You certainly don't need to hallucinate (whether that's hearing voices or seeing things etc) to have psychosis, although it is usually the case most people hear voices.

If you are having thoughts you feel aren't your own... that is something called thought insertion & again is related to psychosis.

Something to be aware of... is a lot of the time people who have psychosis might not even realise it themselves. I'm not sure what prompted you to go to the doctor but family are often the ones to notice something wrong first.

Don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions. They might not be able to give definite answers, but they might be able to explain some things.

And remember, you are not alone... all of us in this forum have experienced similar problems.
