Have you ever had sexual problems from meds? Did you find a solution?
Thanks for this!

I had issues after my first break and it only helped a little bit to get off the meds. If you're sure its the meds you can try switching meds----for example when I was on risperdal I had no desire at all and was missing periods due to prolactin. We switched to abilify to get rid of the prolactin effect and that helped a lot.

Yes I have and still do. I have no desire whatsoever. I think it's the AD that's doing it but it's happened with every AD I've been on. I don't have a solution other than to stop my meds which I won't do.
Maybe a change will help.

I lost all desire to watch pornography after being on anti psychotic injections for a few months.

Fortunately, that is starting to return to normal.

Porn is fun and an important part of my everyday life.

Still waiting for my body composition to return to its previous state .

The "solution" would probably be doing it anyway.

As your health falter so to does your sexual drive. You also lose libido naturally as you get older. A good exercise and diet regime is going to increase your sex drive at least somewhat.

Are you taking any ADs? They seem to be the culprit for most people.

I think that pretty much all psych meds have some sort of effect on a person's libido.
I read this one book that really made a lot of sense to me, and in it this one doctor states that dreams are a discharge of excess libido and that hallucinations and delusions are a discharge of excess repressed libido. You know dreams and hallucinations are members of the same extended family and scientists tell us that when we dream at night we have an increased blood flow to our groin region. Schizophrenia most likely appears in our late teens or 20s when are hormones are really peeking. John Nash said once that he thought the reason why his psychosis began to fade away when he got older was because his hormones started to diminish also.

The only time I've had sexual problems from meds was when I was taking Zoloft
I couldn't orgasm and it was torture because I would get almost there and then nothing else I did or anyone else did would actually get me to orgasm

After I stopped Zoloft I was fine

When I was on Zyprexa and Abilify yes. But this is not the case with seroquel and some mood stabilizer.

I read in this one book that there is an inverse relationship between Serotonin and Dopamine. So a SSRI increases the amount of Serotonin which would decrease the access of Dopamine. The highest release of Dopamine is when we have sex so it makes sense that many people taking anti-depressants encounter sexual difficulties.
After the big release of dopamine during orgasm, serotonin will naturally start to flow in.
