Hi,
I have been having a lot of thoughts about suicide, but I don't even feel sad. I even went so far as to make a plan of what to do and researched how to do it, but I'm not going to do it, and I did not buy anything to do it with. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I should probably talk to my T about it, but I don't want to be sent to the hospital. I don't want to die right now, but I still keep having these thoughts. Any input would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

ive never had this exact thing but once I was really upset when I guy I liked had a new gf and I just kept thinking suicidal thoughts without control, but I had no intention of acting on it ....it went away after a day. Honestly though I don't find Ts tend to over hospitalize ...if you say you won't do it they generally believe you....especially if you have an established relationship....

Have you had these thoughts a lot before? If so, they tend to become a habit for a lot of people and any set back or frustration can trigger them, not just the extreme distress and hopelessness that used to trigger them. I've not experienced this though. I only feel suicidal when all my hope is gone. But it is quite common from what I've read across the PC boards. Most people seem to ignore them because they know that the thoughts aren't relevant to their current situation and they don't want to act on them. I would talk to your T about it. IME I've only been hospitalised for having a plan with intent to carry it out. No one has ever worried about thoughts or plans on their own. I hope that your T can help you find a way to cope with these thoughts. They can feel scary at first, but at the end of the day, they're just thoughts like any other
