Depends on your doctor....why go to the hospital....what do you want from them, often they'll do it for med changes....

Last time I went the receptionist at the ER intake insisted I said I was depressed and suicidal. I was really there for hallucinations getting out of control.

I'm contemplating going to ER I've been on risperdone five months and completely constipated from it I feelcompletely panicked that I can't eat/go.And that severe stress is making me see signs in everything etc.I just want to come off the med immediately but if I do I'll end up in psychosis, just completely stuck as what to do.

Ask for a medication change, there are other antipsychotics that don't cause that....

You could go to the hospital if you are a danger to yourself, a danger to others, or out of touch with reality.
Thanks for this!

Hi,
I'm afraid not JesusIsLove and that is because of budget cuts & basically the system is screwed up! I know b/c when I was at my most stressed with life that I tried to call up the hospital to get a break from day to day life and all the receptionist said to me was "no you can't do that".
I would suggest to check in anyway if you feel that you really need to be in the hospital. You may be experiencing some sort of warning signs? I don't know cause only you can know this about yourself.
If I were you I would go. Perhaps take an inventory of whats going on with yourself or just show up at the E.R.
Remember to take care of you.

Can you make an appointment with the medication MHealth provider to talk about changing meds?

I've been hospitalized for acute mania and psychosis. I guess being very manic or very psychotic itself constitutes "danger to oneself/others."

my last visit to the hospital was to change to better meds, you dont need to be suicidal to get treatment. i was there for 2-3 months.
