Hello guys, I developed psychosis 4 years ago. I worked for 2 years but without medication with AP medication I'm like a fat zombie and I can't work anymore...the health system lake of information. I think the common medication are not so good. What do you say about that? Maybe my medication Xepilon isn't the optimal medication?
I want to work but with medication I'm like a chainsaw without motor!
There is someone that have found a solution maybe with with a medication strategy?

Most APs made me feel like a fat zombie unfortunately, so I prefer to manage med-free, but I appreciate that not everyone can/wants to. I've never taken paliperidone/xeplion/invega, but others here have, so I'll leave them to comment on that. But IME aripiprazole/abilify was the med that was the least sedating and weight gaining I've taken, although akathisia was a problem at some points. I'm not sure if you've already tried that? I think it's definitely worth talking to your pdoc about a change though if you're not happy with what you're on now.

Hope you can find a solution

Thanks to your reponse willow, I'm glad to hear you. The main problem is that some time with medication the simptoms are more remarkable but I can't explain why there are this problems I tried many medication but when I stopped the medication I feel better for some time...I don't know. Maybe I try Abilify...

I take Latuda and have good luck with it. No side effects and it takes away my psychosis. It is weight neutral for me, as a matter of fact I lost 11 lbs when I first started.

I used to be on 10 different meds to make me well.

Now I'm down to 6. Once I got off some of those meds, I lost 70 pounds.

The haze only lasts for a week or two. If you can stand that, and let the meds do their thing, it is worth it.

I do not recommend handling your psychosis on your own without meds. It is one of the most dangerous aspects of mental illness.

You probably will end up self-medicating, if you aren't already. That just makes it worse.

Now I'm on invega 6 miligram since 3 months (but it take time to get better) after the first month I wasn't good now is better, the problem is that sometimes some simptoms pop up (one time pro week) and that is very annoying for mè....
