I was able to apply for a deferment at first and was approved every year. Then last year my case manager told me about a program that clears all student loans “while your on disability”. If you ever get off disability you have to start paying back your loans. We did the paperwork and I was approved. I do not have to pay my loans.

I live on a shoe-string budget. I'm on a low income but not on disablity. I get by somehow by not traveling, not spending money on new clothes, and not eating too much. I don't have loans and my bills are not that high. I am in poverty and the only thing I do that is expensive is eat out. I don't have a car and always take public transportation. I eat rather badly but walk all over the place. I don't have wi-fi either and get by with just ethernet. Here, everybody has their faces stuck to their cell phones. I don't do this. I don't have cable or dish either. So, I sleep when I can and go out to free places also. I am doing ok.
