Tell my parents about the voices. I've had them for years now and I've finally come to terms with it. My parents never believe me when I tell them I need help. I'm too afraid to ask another person from my school. I'm not really sure where else to turn, but its getting overwhelming. I'm losing control- any advice?

if you're at school i take it that you are still in your teens? you have been so brave dealing with all of this by yourself, but i think you are right in that now is a time to reach out for more support. do you think you could write your parents a letter? i was always a bit scared of my parents' reaction, so what i did was to write my teacher (someone i trusted a lot) a letter, and then she contacted me, and we talked it over, and then she was with me when i told my parents. it was good that way because then they couldn't dismiss it, and it meant that i got the support i needed. does this sound workable to you? |

I think that sounds pretty doable. I have a teacher that I do talk to often so hopefully he can help me out with this. I'm nervous still, but hopefully my parents will listen. Thanks for the idea- I think I'll try it.
