I looked back and I don't think I posted anything about this but if I did, I apologize for repeating myself... my memory isn't what it used to be...

I found out back in October that I had a stroke. I think I had mentioned being nervous about needing an MRI and the MRI showed that I had indeed had a stroke from my attempt in August or the sepsis that I developed from being in the hospital. I've been struggling with following with PC since August basically... I haven't been able to jeep up with threads and keep track of who is saying what and such... its making me sad that I can't keep up with y'all.

Hugs child of chaos....thats quite a lot...glad you’re still with us and hoping your mind improves over time. Do they have any cognitive therapy for you, like by a PsyD? Also I recommend fish oil for cognitive issues, or algae omega if you’re veg....

My T forgot about me on Saturday. I texted her. Waited. Texted her. Waited. Texted her. Left. She texted me back a little while later and said she had her dates mixed up. And that she would call me later. She ended up calling me at 4 PM. My appointment was at 11 AM but probably she had appointments all in between those times. So we talked. It was okay. She is a little loopy sometimes. She says she thinks my hallucinations are ghosts. I don't believe in ghosts. I'm pretty sure my pdoc is going to have a fit when he hears this. Sometimes I don't know whether to take her seriously or not.

My doctor called me and said we can talk about other options at our next appointment. So I'm stopping the metformin. I don't know what other options are out there, I'd prefer to not have to start another med, but at the same time am scared I'll gain all the weight I lost on metformin back. It was a like 18 lbs, so not really that much, but still

I have a feeling she'll suggest topomax. That's the only other med I can think of that can help decrease appetite and promote weight loss. I would be scared to take it though

I'm on topamax. I lost a huge amount of weight, and had no problems taking it, except that I did have a bit of the tingles for a while. They weren't that bad.

I was put on topamax 200mg in rehab for addiction and my outpatient psychiatrist took me off of it because he said "This dose makes people lose 20 IQ points when they're on it" so just consider that. It's linked to brain fog, memory and concentration issues.

Thanks for this! That is encouraging to hear, I'll keep that in mind when I have my next appointment with my psych

Thanks, I guess I'll see what my options are, and if one of them is topomax, I may try it, but if the side effects are too much I'll stop

Thanks for the hugs! I'm doing speech therapy, which is really more memory/cognitive therapy. My language issues are more memory, I can't remember the word I want rather than it being an actual language/speech issue. I haven't even thought about fish oil, thats something I should start, thanks for that!

Def scary... I ended up spending 25 days in 4 different hospitals between medical and psych hospitals with all of that... and we didn't even know about the stroke at that point.

I was on topomax and I couldn't even remember my coworker's names. I quit that within the week.

That's scary, hopefully nothing like that happens if I do get on it

My problem with new meds is as soon as I take the first dose I assume I'm gonna die, and I freak out, every little side effect is magnified in my mind

Planning to read for a bit then listen to a podcast. Chill day. I feel good on Dexedrine/coffee/nicotine. Had a really good sleep.

My addiction and mental health is under control. I stopped it in its tracks. I did order microdose capsules though - But I'm feeling better now that I'm at week 3 (Middle of my Invega Trinza injection).
