Nevermind, the volunteer coordinator texted me and said I don’t have to go in today because there’s no cats there at the moment. So I’ll go back next Tuesday. They take all the cats and put them with foster families over the holidays so they’re not stuck in their cages over holidays. So I have the entire day to do whatever I guess. I’m probably gonna play some of my new games, and read. And I need to practice violin because I have a lesson on Saturday. Other than that spend time with my boyfriend.

Waiting on two packages. One from my boyfriend which are Christmas presents for me and one from the company that made my Bluetooth headphones. There was something defective with them so I emailed the company and gave the proof of purchase and pictures of the item and what issues I was experiencing and they determined that it was a defective one and they offered to ship out a replacement for free no return necessary. So that’s cool because they were $60, which is a lot for me. I really liked them but they stopped charging within a week of getting them. I tried different charging cables and different power sources and nothing. So it will be nice to have a new pair that hopefully I won’t have the same problem with.

The gifts he got me. I started studying with the music theory book/workbook this morning, it’s awesome and super in depth with lots of exercises and lessons and 2 ear training CDs came with it too.

Not much going on today. I did some major decluttering. Bagged up a bunch of stuff I don’t need or want and will get rid of it, donate what I can. I’m trying to have less items in my apartment. Like only focusing on the things that actually bring me joy that I use instead of things collecting dust in a closet for years untouched.
Kind of like minimalistic. So I’m putting a 3 year ban on buying books or videogames, if they’re gifted to me that’s fine though. I just don’t want to keep adding to the amount of stuff I own. Including digitally. So I’m not buying anymore books physically as much as I can avoid it (unless for college) and am only buying ebooks from now on and am also not buying any ebooks for 2 years. I have quite the collection already in my kindle and I have the library and the hoopla app so I should be perfectly fine not buying books for 2 years. I want to use and enjoy what I already have and there’s tons of awesome books I own that are on my to be read list I want to get to. Other things I’m not buying: I’m not allowed to buy • Videogames (I have so many of these on various consoles and PC it’s not even funny, I want to play what I have already) • Apps • Microtransactions on games • Electronics unless it’s to replace something I really actually need like a cable or something small like that. • Books including ebooks • Shows or movies digitally or otherwise • Shoes , I already have a really good pair of sneakers and a really good pair of boots. I should be good to go for a year. • Jewelry unless it’s nose stud replacements if needed • Face washes • Decorations • Planners • Notebooks (unless for college) • Any kind of stationary • Toys/collectibles • Any kind of trading card games (I have plenty of these already) • Any rpg board games (also have several of these already) • Art supplies (unless it’s to replace or I run out) • Craft supplies • Kitchen tools • Appliances The things I am allowing myself to splurge on when my tax return comes in: -a 500gb micro SD card -a Nintendo Switch charging case -Sony Bluetooth headphones -Beats studio buds wireless earbuds -a printer -ink -printer paper On my birthday in June I’m buying a Nintendo Switch OLED to replace my launch day Switch. I’m allowed to spend money: -get essentials (obviously) -get a haircut and eyebrows waxed every 6 months -clothes (only if necessary and very occasionally) if something really needs to be replaced, or if I end up not fitting in something at some point due to weight gain or weight loss) -spend money on experiences like going out to eat or going to the movie theater -violin and ukulele strings as needed , and rosin for my violin as needed -violin lessons -bus fare __________________ “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

My goal is to end 2024 with at least $500 in personal savings (not my emergency fund) , hopefully more

I kind of had a very long list of goals somewhere earlier in the thread for 2024. But I want to simplify my goals to focus on three things main things. The bolded words summarize my goals for 2024.
-Music. Practicing ukulele and violin daily. Studying music theory daily. And continuing my violin lessons. I really want to make a lot of progress over the next year. -Health/hygiene: Sleeping well, socializing, all the hygiene habits (teeth, shower, etc) , getting outside for vitamin D, keeping my place clean so I feel better mentally, meditation. -Self- Growth- Keep volunteering with the cat rescue , and go back to college. So yeah, 2024 goals - progress with music endeavors -Improve Health/Hygiene -Self-growth __________________ “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

I ordered a fidget toy. Idk what my problem is but I can’t focus on anything without getting distracted unless I’m fidgeting with something constantly simultaneously. For some reason having something like that improves my focus and doesn’t distract me from whatever I’m actually doing. If I’m watching a show on my tablet or phone I can’t stay on it unless one of my hands is fidgeting with something. If it’s not then I can’t focus and end up exiting out of windows multiple times scrolling through things, starting other shows, doing other things, same thing with reading.

I’m gonna be taking a break from the forum for awhile. It’s pretty dead here now. I feel like I’m really the main person who posts in here now and I often feel like I’m talking to myself, so I will come back someday and see if it picks up in activity again someday if any new members join

Soon I'll have my new phone, hope it's good. This one, the XR20, can be squose for maybe 3 hours or 2 hours of podcasts, and one hour of tv. If I can get a new battery in it I'll use it as a small tablet.

If I have to retire this phone I'll be sad. It has been a weird experience. I don't want to reset the phone. I like the apps, etc. That's why I'm not sure.

Wondering if the phone fixer can change the battery without me resetting to factory data. If he could do it while I wait.

Hello friends. I’m back. I decided I’ll stick around. So I bought a printer/scanner/copier. I got it for $50. It’s an HP one, it’s really good , it has an app that goes with it. I bought a 500 sheet pack of printer paper to go with it. The printer came with one set of black/white and color ink cartridges and I have a three month subscription for replacement ink and paper. So every month for the next three months I get a set of ink cartridges and a 50 sheet pack of paper. All of this for $50 , which is a really good deal. It prints really well. And I love that I can print from my phone or laptop or wherever. And I can use it to scan artwork I do. And print sheet music. So I’m really excited about it.
Mustachio is terrified of it though lol. When I turned it on she jumped about 3 ft in the air and fell off her chair __________________ “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi
