Hello. My name is Chloe and I live in Florida. I have schizophrenia for 31 years now. Thankfully I am stable on my meds. I work part time as a certified nursing assistant. I am looking for new friends to chat with. I am caring, honest, sympathetic and kind.

Hi squarepegguy! Thank you for answering my post. That's cool that your daughter's partner is schizophrenic. I'm glad that she accepts him as he is! That takes a special person!

Welcome, and feel free to post in Roll Call, as more people check that, I think!

Hi Chloe, great that you’re stable and awesome to be a CNA helping people. I like to help people too, I’m a librarian and also stable for maybe 15 years. I rarely check in on here because I don’t like to share a ton of personal info on here but welcome and as WA said more people post on roll call it’s kind of a daily check in thread. Hi April. I'm ssoo sorry that I have not responded earlier. I wasn't notified that I had new messages on here. I'm brand new on this site and I'm still learning how to use it.
Well, I have lived in Tampa Florida since 1988. I moved here with my family from NY. At that time, this consisted of my mother, stepdad and two brothers. I got sick in 1993, the same year one of my brothers died. I have been stable since 2017. That's the last time that I was hospitalized. I take Depakote, Seroquel and Trilafon. Do you have schizophrenia? What do you take? I have never been married or had any kids. I'm glad that you are married. How long have you been married? We just had a hurricane pass through here as you probably heard on the news. Thank God that nothing happened to our home. But there were others who had it much worse. Many people got their homes and neighborhoods flooded. Thank goodness that we don't live in a flooded area. So tell me more about yourself please. |

Hey there
I’m in Minnesota I’m about to turn 66. I live in an elderly apartment building. I was married long, long ago and had one child. I had to flee and lived in Austin Texas for years. I have bipolar but I’m now stable. I spent many years in and out of hospitals. I returned to Minnesota to take care of mum, about 7-8 years ago. She died almost 2 years ago. But I have my daughter her family and my sister and her family. __________________ Nammu …Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. hi Chloe,
No worries, I'm still learning this format and stuff myself. No i don't have schizophrenia, but i do have bipolar, anxiety,depression,ptsd and all kinds of physical issues. I have been married this time for 11 years(we've been together 13yrs) he is almost 30 years older than me but it works out pretty good since he works all the time and i have almost everything i need. i was EXTREMELY close to my mom , in fact when i first agreed to move in with my husband the one stipulation; my mom and her dog had to come with me. She wasn't in a good place in Texas. so she lived with us for a couple of years then she wound up living with her aunts in new mexico and i guess she met a man that was in prision with my baby brother and she wanted to move to mississippi so i went and moved her down there, which was good for me since we lived in Alabama. We were always on the phone with each other or we were texting. She went to take a nap on sept. 1st 2017 and my world changed forever, when she didnt wake up. I HAVE been broken since then. i have one older sister and 2 younger half brothers but i just call them my brothers. we weren't raised together but weve always been close. my major goal in life was to be a good mother and a good wife. Well at 22 i had a tubal pregnancy that went untreated for like 6 months and it busted my tube but it also caused alot of scar tissue so they wound up taking both tubes and one ovary so i would be able to carry a pregnancy just not get there by myself. so there went that idea and i got married when i was 23 and i think i just got married to be married. we were married for like 10 years but we were only together a couple of those years. My goodness i have went on for quiet a while. sorry about that. i know that there is a way on here that we can do private message each other so that not everyone can see what we say to each other, but im not sure how it works. I look foward to getting to know you as well. |

Hi April. I'm sorry that I haven't been on this site lately. I don't know why they don't notify you when you have a new message. You either have to guess when you have a new message or keep checking this site every day. I would also like to know how to post in private so everyone doesn't read everything we say. Anyway, I see that you've been married twice. How old are you? I'm so sorry that you had both tubes and an ovary taken out. Did you say that you have children? I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I also was very close to my mom. She past away in January of this year. She was just 74 years old. She had a stroke and was in the hospital for about 9 days. I was with her when she took her last breathe. I have a picture in my room of us holding hands when she was in the hospital. I miss her dearly. I now live with my brother. He's building his own house and will be moving out soon. I'm looking for a roommate now. Since I spoke to you last, we went through another hurricane. It was called hurricane Milton. It did a lot of damage in Tampa where I live. Some people lost their homes and cars. There are people living in their cars. I know that my mom was looking out for me because nothing happened to our home or cars. And I'm so scared because hurricane season is not over yet. Please write me back when you can. I'll try to check this site more often. |

I too was in and out of the hospital for a while when I first got sick. I didn't want to admit that I had to take medicine so I kept going to the hospital. But now I take my meds every day and have been stable since 2017. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I lived with my mom since 2017. She just passed away in January of this year. I was really close to her and I miss her so much. She was truly my best friend and my bodyguard. Now she's my guardian angel in heaven. I'm glad that you have family to support you. I had two brothers but one died in 1993, the year that I got sick. He died in a motorcycle accident. So now I only have one brother, one nephew and two cousins. We all live in Tampa. We are originally from NY. We recently went through a hurricane here in Tampa. It was called hurricane Milton. Many people lost their homes and cars. I know that my mom was looking out for me because nothing happened to our home or cars. I'm so scared because hurricane season is not over yet. It doesn't end until the end of November. Well I hope to hear from you soon. I will try to check this site for my messages. I don't know why they don't notify me when I have a new message. Take care. |

wow yeah it has been a pretty active hurricane season i pray for all the families involved. Thats very scary. No i dont have any kids of my own but i had my oldest nephew from the time he was 6 months old till he was 6 or 7. well his dad brought him to my mom and asked her to take care of him but i was the one who did it because mom was in nursing school from 7-3 weekdays and worked from 4-12 everyday. but my nephew told me a couple of years ago that he only remembers me as always leaving. i had to interduce his mom to his kindergarten teacher so that she could pick him up. She has claimed (since mom died) that the reason i had him was that my mom threatened to call the cops and tell them that she was on drugs. anyway he will be 30 in January and has 2 kids of his own, that he has custody of. the oldest one is 11 and his mom just walked away from him and doesnt talk to him or anything,and the little girls' mom died at the age of 23 so he has her too. Alot of my PTSD stem from my sister. She has always been jealous of me and wants mylife and hers too. we went like 20 years without talking really because she thought i slept with her husband. He was only her boyfriend at the time and so she shut me out of her life and married him! but thats just how she is and it has taken me a long time to finally say that im here for her but " if she doesn't think of me when good things happen, then don't only think of me when you need something." and then when my mom died my sister was upset because i was the one on all her paperwork and making all the arrangements ETC. she thought that SHE should be the one doing all that just because shes the oldest.
Anyways i first started getting sick in 2011 it started with my blood pressure and with the meds i started gaining weight and i haven't stopped im now over 200lbs and that plays a really big part of my mental health. I've been bi polar for around 5 years ( and my husband thinks that it doesnt affect him) so he hasnt even looked into it to see how much it really does affect him. i think the way i have doe this might be the way to do a private message by using the quick reply but we will find out as soon as i quit talking about myself : ) so really look foward to hearing more about you and your struggles and life etc. |

Thanks for the link and information I needed. I went on the link you sent me and "Receive emails from other members" was already checked off, so I don't know why I'm not receiving notifications when I get a new message? Thanks! |

@Chloe1968, are you expecting to get a message when someone replies to one of your posts? I don't think that this site does that.

You need to subscribe to the thread in question, then you can get emails each time someone posts a reply. Go to "Thread Tools" on top on the thread (on top / to the right of our initial post) Then select "Subscribe to this thread" Finally choose the option you prefer (i.e. instant notification, daily updates etc.) This way, you will get notified each time somebody adds a reply to any thread you subscribe to. |

Hi there Rive. Thank you for your help! Unfortunately I couldn't find where it says thread tools but I did go to my profile and saw that I have two threads on there. From there I was able to choose an option that said I want to be notified daily when I get a message. I hope it works that way too. |

@Chloe1968
Look at the very first post you made in this thread: on the right hand side you will find “Thread Tools” – “Search this Thread” and “Display Modes” You click ”Thread Tools” But glad you figured out another way. |
