For the past few weeks, I have been getting severe thought insertion. It has been telling me dangerous things and scary things. There are times where it is so bad that I nearly break down in tears. Some of it is from the government and some is from aliens from another galaxy. The government is telling me that I have chips in me including in my brain, arms, and legs. The one in my brain receives thoughts that tell me what to do and it also works to send my thoughts to the government and the surrounding area. They said the ones in my arms contain these tiny machines that will eat away my insides slowly until I die. They will do this at the time of their choosing. For now they enjoy controlling me and sending me scary thoughts. They tell me it is better if I kill myself quickly instead of the slow and painful death they promise me. I really want to cut the chips out so this doesn't happen. I don't want to die because I am going on a cruise next month. The aliens are not as bad. They tell me that they will invade and destroy the planet and capture me for some odd reason. The thought insertion is different than voices as it isn't audible. But it is stronger than my own thoughts. So, what do I do?

hi Firebird, very interesting post... for me, i like to think i have control over what thoughts are inserted into my head? i know messages are coming at us from every direction, but, ultimately, i do control which thoughts are in the forefront on most occasions... try to hang in there and find your re-centering, re-focusing place and maybe sit with it awhile? let yourself feel and imagine the firm foundations which surround you that you are currently aware of? let it build up from there?

sorry if this is way off and not an answer to your question.. i hope you can find calm peacefulness soon.. wishing you the best always

Have you seen your pdoc recently? S/he can probably help.
I use to be able to make fun of some of my thoughts, kind of like you're doing with the aliens, "they will invade and destroy the planet and capture me for some odd reason", their reasoning doesn't make sense. Neither do the government ones! Why would they pick you? How could "tiny" machines eat away? They can't "digest" and have nowhere to put what they eat? When you dig a tunnel, you have to move all the stuff out of the way?

Go to the doctor, they can help!

I agree - go to a doctor about these,
a psychiatrist or a mental health clinic/association
Find something else that's more interesting to you, so
that you can focus on enjoyable activities.

Your 'authorial you' has ultimate control. The 'you' that wrote your post. Lay down some rules, for example: "I will not harm myself, I will not harm an other". Then consider.

I understand how distressing 'thought insertion' can be. Medication from your doctor would probably help.
