Hi, Indie!
I'm a high school teacher, and I teach mostly freshmen.

I know that it can be scarey to go to a new school, usually a bigger school with different classes and different kids and all.
But, it's also an opportunity for you to discover many new things about yourself. And that's exciting!

You say your problems are caused by school. Would you care to talk about it?
What are you good at? Where do you struggle? What are you interested in?
Maybe we can help.

I promise you that high school will be ok. Talk out your fears here. You'll be all set by September! (Unless you go back in August, like we do!LOL!)

Peace!

Sunflower, thank you

Well, it started in fifth grade. I was bullied a lot by a group of girls (evil girls, I still dislike them very much, even still). This went on for about 3 years, until 8th grade came. I moved to a different school that year, and I looked at this as a new opportunity, a chance to start over. I got to this school, and the first day, I heard someone say "somebody called the new girl a lesbian". I'd never even met this guy! So, the rest of the year was bad. I hated this school more than I did my old one. Oh, I should mention that the problem I have with school is that I have a lot of anxiety about it. I'll start sweating and shaking. It's caused by the fear that people are saying stuff about me.

So this spring, my parents gave me the chance to move back to my old school. I took it, and I'm going back for high school this fall. I'm worried about it, because I really don't know what's going to happen. I'm just tired of the anxiety.

Thanks for hearing me Talking about it does help. I see a counselor about this too. But school starts in like 6 weeks, so therapy probably won't help yet.

Sorry, I responded as though you were going to college, which is completely different.

I was once there not to long ago. I can understand what you mean and how scared you feel. I think my social anxiety was caused by all the people who were mean to me in school. I have to say that if I had to do it over again I would have stood up for myself more and kept on going. I know how hard that is to do, but the only way to get over the anxiety is to do what makes you anxious ( I have learned that from over 10 years of therapy). Just think of anxiety only as a fear and of course the only thing to fear is fear its self. Just keep telling yourself that and get some adults to help you if you feel it gets too bad. I wish you lots of luck and strength! You can pm me, chat with me, or voice chat with me anytime if you need or want to.
