This project is turning out to be really frustrating and it shouldn't. I'm not doing anything real hard or elaborate. It's getting ahold of all the materials I need that's driving me crazy. Getting the cement and aggregates was the easiest. I was able to get it on the first phone call, but I had call my friend with a truck to go way out to the east side to pick up everything and then drive all the way across town to the west side. The GGBS was a major pain. I had to call ten places before I was able to find any... and it's from acompany that's out of town, so they have to mail it to. I've no idea when it's going to arrive. I was able to get my RHA after emailing five or six places and only two of them got back to me. One had a minimum order of 500 pounds when I only needed 15 and the other was in India. After a little more reseach I was able to find another company, but when I called no one picked and no one responded to the voicemail I left. Well, I finally got ahold of someone and they sent me what I needed, though it took two weeks to get here, and it's one of the most important parts. When I opened the box I found out that it's processed as much as I need. I have to grind it down more (so the grain size is closer to cement) and I have to burn off the excess carbon. So now I'm running around unsuccessfully trying to find an appropriate grinder and furnace. Metallurgy said I could use their furnaces but there's the question of whether or not any of them could do the job without blowning everything everywhere, and the one person who knows for sure won't be back until next week. I went to find a grinder but civils the only one who would have one and the guy who's in charge of all the labs wasn't there either. Now I'm like two months behind on my work. I can still finish by December but I'm not going to have the time I would like to work on the report.

Oh, that's too bad! I remember a project I had and it took a zillion calls before I found the material in California, NOT where it was expected. But I got all sorts of "amusing" answers to whether people on this coast (I'm in Maryland) had it, that the project wasn't possible here (that's allegedly why they didn't have the material) and your minimum order of 500 pounds (when I finally bought 2 pounds :-) was the answer somewhere else.

I hope once you get all the materials and get them ground to the right specs and line up the furnace, etc. things go a bit faster for you!
