Worried I blew both my final assignments. Glad I've at least come to the end of an exceptionally hard week and semester, but waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Been there, felt that... They should have a t-shirt for that feeling, eh? Truthfully though, I'm betting you put a great deal of effort into your assignments and strove to do your best. Therefore, whatever the results, you can for the moment congratulate yourself for seeing the semester out to the end. I think everyone else is going to give you similar advice to what I'm about to say... but I'll put it in a context that should be a bit encouraging. You should go out and do something fun. But here's the thing about my advice that's different... It needs to be something completely new -something you've never tried before - or something you never have time to do except on breaks. New is better. And the more activity and concentration the task requires, the better. Movies work really well too though. Another option is to follow through on whatever promises you made yourself mid semester whilst trying to find the energy to keep going... I know I promised myself I'd go out to the beach (yup, even though it's winter) while trying to get through an absolutely excruciating research paper, and now I fully intend to go forward with that plan.
Thanks for this!

Those are some great ideas, caff. For now, when I knock off work tonight, I'm going to watch an episode of my favorite show on Netflix, which I've denied myself all semester long. But there are some places in this city I still haven't been to, yet, and I have about a month to kill before the spring semester rolls around. So I will keep you posted about what strange, new thing I find to do.

Have a good holiday,
HS

I'm thinking either trying out for a play or somehow working in a theater, or trying to get one of my stories published. The first one sounds extremely crazy to me right now.

You should totally go for it! Look at it this way, you'll probably be very happy that you at least tried afterwards. As for getting published, it's entirely doable but don't get discouraged if you have to try several publishers.
Thanks for this!
