Well I have to go back to college on Monday... I'm not looking forward to it. The work load is too stressful and there's no option to only take certain modules, it's do it all, or do none. I also just can't face being there, I do have quite a few friends in college, but none I'd consider to be truly close friends, I couldn't tell them the most serious stuff on my mind.

And another thing that's annoying me is one class I have that is all about what we're going to do after college. It's getting us to think about what exactly we want to work at, where etc. The lecturer keeps bombarding me with these questions and I honestly don't know what exact part of computing I want to work in, or what country I want to work. I don't even think the questions are fair at this point, it's only half way through the second of 4 years, I haven't got a taste of everything yet to make up my mind. But she's constantly on me about it and said she'll fail me if I don't give her convincing answers, so I just made some crap up about living in England for some company I found out about online.

I just don't think this year is going to be enjoyable, and I'm thinking of leaving after the end of this semester, I won't have a degree but I will have a Higher Certificate Qualification that could be useful for doing something else.

I know you don't know but something else, like what? I wouldn't quit what you are doing just because you don't enjoy whatever it is until you have something you do enjoy in front of you to go to. One doesn't quit a job until they have another job lined up or one can end up in financial difficulties, at the least.

You need a plan of what you want to do; not considering school, other people, etc., just what makes you happy and what you are trying for. If you don't know, try a self-help book or two on the subject (I like this one: http://wishcraft.com/) and get excited about your whole life so you don't even have to think when someone asks, "what do you want?", you'll be so excited they may ask you to shut up instead :-)

Well I was thinking I could use a Higher Cert to do a 2 year course in Graphics Design and Video Editing. I already checked and that along with my high school results would easily get me into that course and that's something I've always enjoyed as a hobby and something I'd be more interested in. I am trying to find add on courses because I know it would be stupid to just leave and not have anything else lined up.

Have you looked at the game design portion of computers? http://www.igda.org/about You have to design those backgrounds, albeit not quite "graphically" :-) and a game is kind of a video of sorts. I was an instructional designer for 2-3 years, wrote simulator courses, and though more computer than graphics has a lot of broader stuff that was good background for me to shift around within later. Maybe some game design background would help you and be more fun than what you're doing?

Games design is actually a part of my course but I wouldn't say I like it as much as I would something like video, I'm not particularly interested in games that much, I play some, that's about it.
I'm thinking of looking into some computer hardware courses too, I discovered through one of my classes that I like hands on stuff more.
