Online School

Hey All,

I do classes online in 8 week increments. Needless to say it is very fast paced. I get so frustrated though and find it difficult to maintain motivation when nobody responds to my posts. Not getting feedback makes me feel like I'm doing a crap job. Should I email the professor and request feedback? or should I wait until the grades come out?

I'd probably email them. It'll only take 2 minutes and you'll have some early feedback to work on. And you should be sure to get an answer because profs are always checking their email lol.

When I had that trouble (I too got an online degree) I just redoubled my online posting and asked myself questions and answered them and tried to come up with related/helpful questions and comments and used the whole online "writing" experience to study. Grab questions from your textbook, ask and answer them online; make it your own site until someone complains or tells you not to.

If it happens all the time, I would find and transfer to another school where there is better feedback and interaction (my university, the University of Maryland University College, http://www.umuc.edu/ had pretty good interaction online, overall).

Going through an online school can be very frustrating, I am currently working on a degree online myself. Though some of my classes last 6 weeks and other last 11 weeks. My suggestion is to email the professor, this has helped me in the past.

Yes, I am an online 'perfesser my self. Email him. Each school I work at requests that you do that. I can understand a few hours or so, but we are (my schools anyway) supposed to email you back within 24 hours.

But yes, you should email the professor. Some professors can take a long time before they reply, so make sure you have plenty of time. I've had to wait up to a week for replies before, and I've only had one professor who would reply in less than 2 days.
