I get that way sometimes and feel as if I am going to explode, if I make myself walk away and take a break then return everything seems so much easier, unless it is an assignment I totally do not understand and I have waited to long to get help from my professor, I do some google searches to get an idea of the direction I need to go, then I make out OK, I call it an anxiety attack, and it is not funny it is very real and scary.

Perhaps try setting a time limit, say... "I will work on my math homework/essay/whatever for 10 minutes. And then I will reward myself." And then reward yourself with something fun... 10 minutes on PC, a really yummy snack, or an episode of your favorite show. After your reward, do 15 minutes of work. You might find once you get started, you'll keep going for longer than you told yourself to work for. Also, try to cut down the distractions. Maybe try to find someplace where you don't get internet, hide and turn off your cell phone, go into another room away from TV and people. Maybe using a timer for both the fun and the reward will help you keep on track. I'd also start this tactic earlier rather than later. A, you can see it could take a really long time! And B, procrastination can lead to anxiety.
Hope this helps! Good luck! I totally understand how you feel! |

Breath... take 5 deep breaths and take a quick glance... then after a few minutes breath and touch the agenda book... take it little by little, and keep deep breathing... Soon you'll be able to....

I've been trying to work through this anxiety/trauma deal (with a lot of help and support, professional and otherwise). Whatever your reason, just be kind to yourself. Accept that sometimes, you might struggle, and that's okay. But hey, you'll make it. You'll make it :]. |

i feel like this ryte now. i know i can study and everything, but i just dont feel like if i do that ill get stuff done, i feel like i need a long time to study. but thats not true because last year i didnt study more then 3 days before the exam and i passed and im in med school. but now its like im tired of it and i know i can do it, but idk . the point is that this feeling is making me procrastinate, not care about school, and slowing me down. if i could take it away it would help me out.

I think it's easy to get discouraged by homework. I try to break it into smaller blocks and achievable goals. That said, I'm trying to get my thesis off the ground after a month already wasted and I'm stressing hardcore

I'm working on my thesis atm and after a month of trying to generate do-able ideas and getting them subsequently rejected by my supervisor I hear you. Also, sometimes after trying and facing many obstacles I start to feel helpless.
