I finished secondary/high school nearly 3 year ago now and I actually do miss it. I used to laugh when people would say "you'll miss this place when you're gone" "best days of your life" and all that. I was just thinking "this can't be true" lol.
But after doing 2 full time years of college, and being now in the middle of a part time year I can honestly say I really do miss school. It was much more fun and structured and I enjoyed the syllabus way more. I particularly miss English and Geography. Geography because I just really liked it and I'm even now thinking I might try to study it further in college. And English for 3 reasons, my teacher, I like reading, and I used to sit with my 2 best friends. I also think the friends I made in high school are better than the ones I've made in college. Don't get me wrong though, it wasn't all fun, I dealt with bullies and anxiety over tests and stuff like that, but I still preferred it. Does anyone else think high school was better or did/do you prefer college?

I definitely agree. I was the same - I couldn't wait to get out of high school but now (having just finished university) I really miss it. I miss the structure and routine. Someone who would set up all the classes and just tell you where to be and what to do. Assignments were structured, easy and there seemed to be a lot more support.
I also found that I missed the courses - or at least variety of courses. I can understand it but all of my uni courses are based around the one area. I loved having the freedom in high school to learn about so many different things. I have been lucky to still have a lot of contact with my high school friends but it is still not the same. So yeah, definitely get where you are coming from ![]() |

I missed a bit of high school, but I felt so much more in control in college by being able to pick my own classes and not having to be under so many rules. Well, to be honest, high-school graduation was one of the best days of my life, but a lot of that was I knew I'd finally be able to leave home. Yea!

I missed that not all of my friends from high-school would be at the same university I went to but other than that I prefer university. I felt like in university, I could study what I wanted and had an interest in, as well as be with people who were equally (if not more) interested and talented. In high-school, there were some of my friends and myself who were competing for the highest marks. Even when we graduated, 2 of my friends had 97 and 98%, I had 95%. After that, a few people had high to mid 80%, a bunch in the 70%s and the rest were 60% or below.

i didn't like high school that much, but i loved college, their were so many cultural differrences in college, of which I enjoyed, and I learned so much.things they don't teach you about in high school too. i remember the pub in college-i was there every other day. i'm happy i quit the drinking although. i was only about a c average but it didn't bother me.

oh yeah, i always knew i was gonna miss it, since i was in 8th grade or so. ive always been scared of growing up and becoming an adult, im 18 now and im still scared of growing up, i left school and yes, i do miss it a LOT. specially becasue i was in a really relaxed school like you could do anything you wanted and you didnt even have to study to get good grades. now im preparing with this big study group to get to university, and everytime im there i cant help but remember all my ex classmates and all the laughs and jokes, and i feel dizzy and sad and i cant focus on anything.
