I dropped out of university because I felt that I was in the wrong major.
I worked for a yr, applied to a different school, got in & dropped out after a semester because it wasn't the right fit either. Then I worked another, & reapplied to the original program I had been in. Which I don't want to be in anyways, it's just that I had 2 yrs done already & wanted to finish what I'd started. Also, I didn't want to be a temporary worker at a factory my whole life (which is virtually the only job prospect in my town). I'm trying to gain experience in another area that I am considering, but nothing seems to be working. Today I was googling bachelor's programs again & found the program that I really should have taken. Only, of course, back when I was applying straight out of high school I didn't know that was what I wanted to do & thought that I wanted a career in what I originally applied for. And, of course the new bachelor's I just looked @ is offered by the school that I dropped out of after a semester! So, if I dropped out of this major again to try to get into the their new program that I'd like to be in, they'd definitely think I have no clue what I'm doing! I suppose I could work a few yrs & reapply to the bachelor program I want to be in...but it costs so much money to go to school, & it puts your life on hold. I just want to know why I keep making mistakes, time & time again. |

I would guess it's because you have never really learned what your talents, skills, and interests are. Ultimately we need to pick a major and stick with it. I was interested in a lot of subjects after I took a course or two in them, but I stuck with what I originally started with--and double majored. That is a possibility. Or a major and a minor.....
It could be that now you are getting more and more afraid of making mistakes, so you are avoiding making the decision. I suggest you go to your school's counseling office and see what inventories they have available for you to take that will show you your best skills, etc. At least you would something "concrete" to help you choose. ![]() |
