I am taking a correspondence course, and I really like it a lot--partly because there is no time limit and you can go at your own pace. But it is really kicking my butt right now and I feel like it's taking a lot out of me, and I am only taking one class!
My oldest sister--who doesn't know I'm trying to get disability--is pressuring me to go to college full time. I've tried that, and it took a lot out of me, and I was a lot younger at that time. (It was about 20 years ago.) Right now, it takes everything I've got just to do the correspondence course and keep my house semi picked up. But she's got this thing in her head that because I'm younger than her, I'm supposed to be full of energy and get up and go.
What's funny is that I've always struggled with depression, and have always not been physically able to handle a whole lot at one time, and she knows that. I don't know why she thinks it's suddenly going to be different now!
Or am I just a big baby?

Could you be having some depression? That can suck the energy right out of us, even if we are very young!
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I have major depressive disorder, and have been struggling with depression for quite some time now. And she has seen how hard things have been for me, but she still thinks that all she has to do is give me a "pep talk."

I know what you mean. People just don't "get it," do they?
Thanks for this!

You're not a big baby, you're depressed. Maybe she needs to be educated about the ways depression can affect a person.
Thanks for this!
