I am failing school I can't seem to concentrate on my work and then I have people in my class being nasty to me and bullying me ,I can seem to stay concentrated on my work because I start to think about all the things that are happening in my life and then I get upset an it's like I shut down.i sometimes also hear voices when I'm in my lesson and that makes it even harder to not get distracted ,Yesturday when I was there I was in my lesson and started to hear voices and it all got too much for me that I shouted in my class for them to shut up then everyone laughed at me and I walked out of my class and came home ...I am scared that I am going to fail school if I do then I have let my parents down and they will hate me even more that they already do how can I stay concentrated long enough when I'm in class? Someone help please

I suggest you go to talk to your school counselor about these problems you are having. You might need to take some medication to get the distracting thoughts out of your head. Okay?
Thanks for this!

Hi,

I'm with PAYNE1 here. You should see a school counselor. Tell them your problem with focusing and they will help you.

Bless your heart! HOney, why do you say that your parents already HATE you?? I can't believe that they do. I'm sure they love you honey.

If you failed, they MIGHT be disappointed, but not IN you, it would be FOR you. Parents never hate their children, and the majority of them are not disappointed IN their children, like I said. They may be disappointed that their kids didn't finish college because the kids would have a better chance out in the real world. But it's not the END of the world. Parents STILL love their children, for heavens sakes.

And I KNOW your parents love YOU regardless of what happens.

So do like the others suggested and talk with your counselor. Perhaps your class load is a bit too much. Perhaps something can be done. Just don't stress yourself out so much about it sweetie. The world isn't going to end because of it. YOUR mental health is of the most importance!! That's number one!

God bless you and please take care of YOU. Big hugs, Lee

Oh I hated school when I was there. The bullying is so bad. I don't know who raised these kids to be such jerks but take comfort in knowing you are twice the person they are, you are better, you are more kind, you are more genuine, you have depth in you, you have substance and soul. You will be done with school before you know it. I know it's hard but you will be out of there and things will get much easier. Bullying doesn't happen much outside of school. It can sometimes but not nearly as much as at school so take some comfort in knowing it will stop.

Are you seeing a therapist? If you can talk about your troubles perhaps it will make them less overwhelming. Have you looked into private schools that are structured differently or perhaps even homeschooling until you have been able to sort everything out and concentrate better? Home schooling is great because you work at your own pace which really helps for those who are overwhelmed.

Just hang in there, things will get better and soon enough all of this will be a distant memory. But do not let the bullies get the best of you, that's why they do it. They can see it bothers you and they take pleasure in that. Ignore it, show no aknowledgement toward them, and if they wont stop simply say "I know what kind of a person I am, I am someone that is above all of this, I am mature enough to not take my insecurities out on others and I am a much better person than any of you." they may make remarks about that but you better believe it will eat away at them

I talked to my school counselor, and I was sooooooooooooooo scared, but she was so supportive and amazing. I knew I wouldn't be able to tell her in person...So I wrote a note. She got me to eventually a therapist. I also have a psychiatrist so that I can be on meds to help control my anxiety.

And about the bullying...

High school is the worst. I hate it. I cannot wait to be done. (I am a senior.) The best advice I have for you is...do your best. People tell me that all the time. It IS good enough. That's what I'm told. And don't worry about failing, because if you do your best, you know it's the best you can do.

Also, maybe talk to a teacher you trust. They maybe can help you out. And if you're struggling maybe going in for some one-on-one time would help too.

You'll be out of high school soon. And screw what people think. They rarely understand...
