I'm in my sophomore year of college and I have big dreams ahead of me. I'd love to go to graduate school someday, but I feel like my shattering that chance one semester at a time. Last semester I received a C in statistical methods and this semester I failed chemistry 101. I had an idea this was going to happen. I never attended class or read the book so ultimately it is my fault and I take full responsibility. I have a million questions running through my mind about how this will affect my future and what do I need to do to get back on track, but that's the least of my worries at this point. My parents always want to know how I did after each semester. Technically I don't have to tell them or show them my grades but they are helping me out in numerous ways and if i didnt show them my grades they would know something happened. I have financial aid.. How will that be affected? I feel like my dream of graduate school is already out of the picture. Grades are official on Tuesday so after they are official I will have to break down and tell my parents, suffer the consequences, learn from my mistakes, and talk to an advisor..

How did things turn out with your grades and your parents?

I understand how you feel. I've been working on my undergrad degree of a ridiculously long amount of time. I always felt and still do feel guilty when I can't be successful in my classes when my parents and now husband both help me out with the costs. Some financial aid might be affected -- you have to check to see if there's a minimum GPA you have to keep up in order to keep receiving aid. That's generally scholarships.

It's really hard, but we both just have to keep pushing.

Good luck!
