I missed 4 days of class over the past 6 weeks. I got 12 points taken off, then because of that I turned in late homework the next day back, another 16 points. My teacher wrote that this is not dependable or responsible behavior (believe me, she wouldn't want me in her class during those mixed bipolar states). The way I see it, it would have been irresponsible for me to attend class! I wrote her 2 emails about it. If I can keep my grade point average about 2.0, I get my stipend to live on. Right now it's at 2.67.

Please say a prayer for me!

I hope she is going to let you pass. Do you think a doctor's notice would help? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

Are you not registered with the school's dept of exceptional students?

have you tried contacting the learning or accomodations center? you can get a diagnosis on file and recieve accomodations. or as someone above suggested, maybe a doctors note would help?

Well, I have yet to meet with the accomodations counselor. She may be able to help, but I doubt it. When I signed up for school, the lady that enrolled me saw my status and stated that I would not want to put that down now, we don't want to red flag you at this moment.

I'm just kinda pissed because I did do my best. I even had a couple of 1 nighters where I studied instead of sleeping.

But I'm going to keep going and will know more in 2 weeks if I was able to turn it around. If nothing else, it's taught me the extent my illness has on my life.

I'm not bummed, just waiting for the next step.

Well I think school is pretty much over for me. The grant I got didn't pay out as a fulltime student and they paid me part time. The school financial aid person and the VA don't seem to be communicating.

I also received a letter from the VA stating that I was medically eligible for SSI and just need a few more pieces of information before they pay me.

Even if I wasn't going to school, I would volunteer to work with puppies and kitties, but I don't think I will make it in the medical profession. I did give it a try though.

Thank you everyone. Saw regular doc who said there is no way anyhow to stand on my left leg all day let alone putting critters in kennels that are knee level.

Somehow this cute abused dog came into my life, things are less stressful. I know I am smart and could have done it if I had given everything up including my mental health. But not "average" person who doesn't struggle with physical and mental illness.

I appreciate all the support you have given me.
