I am having a meeting to try and return to a university I was suspended from. I need advice on what to say? I need to make them know I'm not going to hurt anyone or myself, that I won't have a psychotic episode, and will graduate on time.

Should I just focus on how good I have been doing, and that should show that I am doing better and will continue to?

Hi whatlife, yes, I think its a good idea to focus on the positive. Do they know you have had psychotic episodes in the past? If not, maybe you should not bring it up--you have a right to privacy. But, otherwise being honest and focusing on the good sounds like the best way to go. I hope it works out for you....D.

Are you able to bring some sort of report from a psychiatrist and/or therapist to support your arguments? I would think those documents would carry more weight than just a personal reassurance.
Thanks for this!

I agree with Payne. Documentation from a professional would help. You could also talk about positive changes you made in regards to the reason you were suspended.
Thanks for this!

It would all depend on the reason for your suspension in the first place but the best thing would be to think about that and address those issues. For example, if you failed assignments because you were distracted and didn't maintain your GPA then talk about why that was and what has changed. Also, as people have said any other letters, reports or examples you have to back that up can be extremely helpful.

Good luck!!

Definitely focus on the positive. And I agree that having documentation from a medical professional, like a psychiatrist, would help. I had to do that in several college courses I took and it did help.

Focus on the positive, bring documentation just in case, and if it's something you really want to do then your desire will show through. That's important too. They'll want to see that you want it.
