Hello again, I need some help if anyone would mind...

I've got disabling Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety, ADHD, and some learning disabilities. So as you can imagine, school is very difficult. I can't go to school because of the Agoraphobia/Social Anxiety (Which started because of issues at school) Therefore at first they had me do home bound school. Basically a teacher would come over for only a few hours a week and then leave me to do the rest of the work on my own.

My ADHD didn't do well with that. She was able to keep me on topic while she was there, but the school wouldn't pay for her to be there more often, therefore we only got work done when she was there. When left to my own devices I would get distracted and not do much work. My Mother couldn't help much because she works two jobs and when she does have time off she does other things to help me (Taking me to walk for health, calling doctors to find one I can go to, trying to work out something with the school, ect)

They have now switched me to online school which is even worse because now I don't have the teacher, I'm just doing mostly everything myself. They don't provide any sort of tutor and we're going to have to pay for one ourselves (Which is $50 per hour So we can't do that often) And my Mother is having to cut back on her hours to help me with my work. If I can't get the work done, I'm almost 17 and they may kick me out if I don't get enough done. I REALLY want to finish school, but I feel I can't do it with the horrible set of cards I'm being dealt.

It's not an issue of intelligence or not willing to do the work, just getting distracted easily. When I AM able to do the work with someone there to keep me focused and when I used to be able to go to school I got great grades.

Does anyone have any ideas on anything I could do? Anything the school should be doing? Ect?

I think you have to come up with a system for yourself so you can correct your getting distracted easily. Write a task on a file card and put it in front of you and refer to it every X minutes; set a kitchen timer to go off every 10 minutes to remind you to refocus. Create checkback sheets so you have to make a checkmark after you do "each" problem you want to do and then are immediately focused on the next one. Make rules for yourself so you are not allowed to get up or go elsewhere on the computer besides your school/work for a certain period of time, etc. It's your life, no one else is going to be there all the time to care what you do. If you want to work at your school work, figure out a way to get what you want.

I've done online school before, and it is SO HARD. It takes so much commitment and dedication and self-motivation. I totally understand where you're coming from.

I think that you should set up some sort of routine. Set up the day like its a normal school day. Get up at a certain time, begin school at a certain time (turn off all distractions). Take breaks but work during the set time.

Are there any cheaper tutoring places near you? I know where I am, my online school offered free online tutoring sessions. My public library also offered online free tutoring. I would research to see if there are any other options for getting some extra help.
