I just realized this morning as I was working on my paper (assigned the 3rd of October, due the 21st of November; I've rewritten it 4-5 times, written over 10,000 words when it is only going to be 2500) that problems with my writing are related to problems I have speaking/interacting with others (therapy)!

To me that explains why my writing has gotten better with therapy and practice and it will get even better now that I see that I am writing in a way similar to poor conversational patterns (long, convoluted sentences because my thinking shifts and I go with it without explaining or making sure my "hearer" understands where I am/going). It has taken going to school in a foreign country with its different ways of teaching and different writing expectations to get me to see it.

There actually are several types of writing therapy, maybe looking in to that could give you a boost.
