What a wonderful <sarcasm> combination, especially when you've lost your motivation for school and have over a year to go.

Any tips? Sympathy?

Here heree. I'm in the same boat. My favorite motivator is dragging some friends to the library with me to suffer as well lol. But yes, hugs and tears all around haha.
Thanks for this!

I have sympathy. I feel similar like I can't focus no energy and midterms are coming up I might not pass. I just have to try my best and do something even when I feel like I can't do anything and even tho i feel its hopeless. I was told by a counselor to just push through and fake it til I make it. Idk weather or not that's good advice but that's all I got

Find out what gave you motivation in your major in the beginning. Renew your interest in it. Remember why you picked it. You made it this far, why not another day, another month or another year? Hang in there and good luck to you.

I'm right there with you, except I have two years to go. It doesn't help when you start failing tests too and it's even more discouraging. All you can do it keep going and remember that it'll all be worth it in the end. Just keep pushing through and remember you are not alone.

Sympathize with you. So do my peers in class. Winter makes it worse...and the location of our classes! We have found a countdown calendar which we FREQUENTLY post to our Facebook and share among ourselves. It gives us hope and really shows us that school isn't forever - although is sure does seem like it sometimes. Hang in there. My fav quote... you can do anything for a short time.

Yep, my major is trying to bleed me dry right now. The last two weeks have been a depressive haze, I have no energy or motivation. I just got to this school this semester so I have hardly any friends yet either. Hang in there, take your meds faithfully if you have any, sleep hygiene and exercise! This gets me through even the hardest days and gives me a little energy to focus.

I can really relate. I am struggling to keep my motivation. I have just about finished all my coursework (this semester is all I have left) and then I have 2-3 semesters of Internship (600 hours).

I try to keep reminding myself of why I am going into this. It's a struggle and a fight.
But I also have two kids who depend on me finishing my education and getting a job.

But I can totally sympathize with you in this. It's so hard to fight that depression.

Oah, I completely feel ya! And nobody understands it either!
A friend that I sit next to in one of my classes has bipolar, and she gets it. You wouldn't believe how supporting it is to have someone who has actually been where you are. While our diagnoses are different (I have MDD) we are still able to be there for each other and encourage each other on a bad day.
Depression and other mental health issues are so so common. But people are so so ashamed to talk about it. You would be surprised if you knew how many people are actually going through the same thing as you. Try looking around and reaching out, you never know what good it could lead to
Best of luck to you, my friend!

Just know that everyone is feeling that way and you ARE not alone. Most of the time we feel like we're the only ones feeling awful and nobody understands and we're all alone. That makes it all the more scary and depressing and demotivating, since everyone seems to be doing so well.

I would advice you to take some time to reflect everyday for 10 minutes about what you want in life, and refresh your motivation. Remind yourself that it is all in your head. Anxiety and excess worry should all be released maybe by exercise (endorphin makes you happy) or meditation and calming techniques. It is NOT the end of the world. It really isn't

I've been motivating myself with food recently. And snacks lol. I go to the library and don't get to leave until I finish at least one thing. I really get moving when I get hungry :P
