I get HORRIBLE test anxiety. Like, for the SAT and ACT, most of the sections I just flat out couldn't think. There was one section where I couldn't even write because I was shaking so bad. Another section I fell asleep (I have narcolepsy). That's the way it goes for me, when my anxiety level gets to a certain point, I just fall asleep.
Almost every single test I take is a nightmare ![]() Someone told me that I might be able to get accommodations for that, like with a longer amount of time or something. Is that possible? I have a 504, could I just get that modified to include those accommodations? And also, does anyone have any testing anxiety stories they would like to share?

I have a similar problem. Since my first days of standardized testing in 2nd grade, it was clear that I had test anxiety. That's when I got my first bald patches from pulling my hair out, during testing time.
There is something you can get called a technical-504. It's basically protection from the federal government against discrimination from teachers that allows you to have accommodations for your needs. I have one and it's really helped. Those individual accommodations depend on what help you or not. To get the 504 you have to have a meeting with your school's supervisor(s) and have proof (like a diagnosis) as to why you need them. Good luck!! |
