Some resources that I found very helpful at my college:
* Office of Disability Services. I have bipolar disorder and nonverbal learning disability, and the office helps me with accommodations such as rescheduling morning exams (my morning meds cause drowsiness), distraction free rooms for test-taking, etc. * Free counseling services. My university's healthcare services provides free general counseling (i.e. licensed therapists and psychiatrists). There are various other forms of counseling available too: e.g. peer academic advisors, sexual health advisors, sexual harassment support, alcohol alliance, LGBT advisors, women-focused mentoring, etc. Make a list of counseling services that are important to you, and see if they're offered by the colleges that you're interested in. Let me know if you have any questions (I'm a junior in college), and good luck! |
