I know, the most obvious answer would be to be an EMT, but I have several options here. I'm not sure what to do next to further my education. I could go to paramedic school, nursing school, or another medically related field. Is there anybody that became an EMT then decided to further your education? What are your suggestions?

I have my EMT cert, but I honestly didn't get it planning to become an EMT, I just wanted the experience. But I lllooooved the class, it was soooo much fun.
I might suggest to practice EMT-ing while you figure out what you want to do next. See how you like it and try out some different things to see what you like best.
My ultimate goal is to be a peds GI doc, but I'll never regret getting that EMT cert

Good luck, dear!

I was an EMT, went to Paramedic and now I'm a Registered Nurse.
I found being a paramedic was what I liked best. Unfortunately, where I live the Fire Depts. all have volunteers. I work as a Registered Nurse and like it well enough.

I thought about doing that. Are the courses really hard?
