Hello,
I am currently in an online program to get my high school diploma. It's a long distance education program for people with visual impairments. I am in the high school program, and I'm feeling stressed. I'm not sure if it's caused by my depression or not.

Hi, anrevival, and welcome to Psych Central! I would think depression might cause trouble with being motivated and getting the work done. Are you taking any meds? Seeing a doctor?

You should be proud of yourself for doing this program. Just step back and see what you need to do about the depression. Stress and depression can go hand in hand.

Hi, anrevival. How long have you been in the program? It can be hard being part of a program when you haven't for awhile or switching programs? Learning "how" to be part of a program can be quite stressful in itself. I too a year-long course from another country and at first it was all very different from what I was use to and I felt like I was not doing well until I reoriented myself and remembered what I wanted and how I was doing fine for my own purposes (rather than for the "system" and what "they" wanted).

I've been in this program since 2012. I'm seeing a therapist.

Sounds like you are almost done? Any ideas of what you'd like to do afterwards? Any parts you like or particularly dislike? I enjoyed researching and writing my English papers, even though I'd procrastinate a whole lot and be stressed about getting them done and then disappointed in myself for not having spent more time/effort on them, etc.

School can be very stressful for some people, yes. Are you able to keep up with your assignments? Do you understand the subject material? Do you feel like you can ask for help if you're not sure? If not, that might be contributing to stress.
