Every time I went to college, I always got too overwhelmed and fell apart. I usually ended up having to drop out because I would have psychotic breaks. I signed up for the coming semester but it was only because I am getting financial aid and I can't work and I can't get disability.

You are blessed that financial aid is available and granted to you. I suggest take course that interests that interests you most. My sisters took course that was chosen by my mother and grandparents that's why they were overwhelmed and were not determined to make use of their career. They were full time students but were not able to take full load because they were having hard time studying matters that are not interesting to them which made it hard for them to understand. Do you have an option to take subjects that are interesting to you? Don't think of the past failures, they could just be blessing in disguise.

Well, in order to keep my financial aid, I have to take courses that will lead to a degree or certificate. I've always only take classes that interested me, and I still fell apart.

Please don't lose this "financial aid" opportunity, try again and if your health condition still makes you feel uncomfortable pursuing the course, reduce your load or give up again.

"before you see the rainbow, you have to deal with the rain first" . . . you won't succeed should you not try.

However, if your health condition does not warrant and you are satisfied of how you are doing now, put off career issue for now. I really wish that I can be of help.

I was the same way at a very large campus. I dreaded anything that meant being around large groups of people. Going to the bookstore at the beginning of the semester was a huge fete for me. I would get so anxious and depressed listening to everyone socializing, laughing and I couldn't do that because my mind was so scattered and I was so disconnected to myself. You have to do whatever you can that is good for you. Your health is the most important thing. I have tons of memories about college every Fall and even have nightmares about it. I also have fantastic memories from Elementary School.

See if your school offers any help because of your diagnosis. They can perhaps provide note taking service and double time to take exams.

I have a family member who was able to get services because of carpel tunnel syndrome. If you're concerned about using your mental health status for this, then perhaps your wrist hurts from time to time. If so, make a complaint to your primary care doctor and have him write you a note for school. Take his note to the disabilities department of your school and see what they could do to help you out.

Good luck with this. Stay in touch.

Yeah, school isn't fun, but eventually you get thru it. No one enjoys school.

It's not about it "not being fun." Let's just say I applied for disability for a reason.
