Just thought I'd share that I had to drop out of school. I'm in my 30's, this was to be my final semester of college, graduating in December after a long journey. I even have my class ring already and had plans for the entire family to come to town. Reception at the school president's mansion for me and my mom, then whole family dinner at my house, finally my mom was going to baby sit all of the grandkids(my niece and nephews) so that the "young" adults could go out. And the next day the commencement.

But I decided on Wednesday, after discussing with T, that I need a more intensive option. We decided on a partial hospitalization day program(the program sucks, but that's another thread).

Anyway, at least I already have an advising appointment set up to register for classes next semester. So I'll actually end up graduating in August rather than December. It was a huge decision because it's a very costly one. But necessary.

One sliver of good news is that the company that makes our official class rings will take it back and change the date on it for free.

So this is disappointing, but a weight was taken off my shoulders instantly after making the decision.

I had to do the same thing my last semester of my senior year and I can understand the weight on your shoulders. I am impressed with your courage and strength to come to that decision and in making plans to do what you need to to take care of yourself! That is what is MOST important. School will always be there waiting and ready when you are.

Wishing you all the best as you move forward with the partial hosp. program; keep doing what you need to to find your balance and take care of you.

((((AF)))))) Take things one moment at a time and do what you need to. It will work out; it really is just a bump in the road for the time being with school. You are too important to deserve anything less than to take this time for you. Take good care meanwhile and hang in there!!!
