The only classes that I'm truly having trouble with are Pre-Calc and AP Physics. It's been only 4-5 weeks and I have a low failing grade in Physics X( Period 1A (I guess that's how it goes) is done today, and I'm sitting here thinking, "Wow, first time I've ever had a horrible failing grade...." As for Pre-Calc, I'm just bombing every homework assignment (except for 2) but passing every quiz. I have no idea what I'm doing now. I feel like the most terrible student at school!!

I've never been fond of tutoring, but soon there's a lady who's going to help me and a friend. This is the first time in my life that I received a tutor.

As for 1 other class it's because of the majority of online assignments that I have no time to track because our class doesn't have an accurate calendar (similar to previous thread). Altogether I have missing assignments, which I've never had before! Is this normal? My older friends have told me that this was a year when teachers don't care what you have for classes and will bombard you with work, work, work! It's a year when juniors will struggle >_<

For those who have gone through this struggle in high school (I guess in college, too, so I can know the experience), how have you handled this???

the people who tell you its normal are the people who have struggled themselves. lots of people have made it without struggling. get all the additional help you can. there is no shame in it. take care.

Actually, sophomore year is the year where you can sort of go by unnoticed. AP physics is a hard class for most people. I wouldn't take the low grade too seriously though- the school year is just getting started. Most likely, there are not very many grades in the gradebook yet. Once there are more assignments, your grade will even out. If it doesn't, I would talk to your teacher. They will probably be more than happy to meet with you to figure out what isn't working for you and how you can get back on top of things. As long as you go in with an open mind and make it clear that you want to work with the teacher to make a plan and you will see it through, I can't think of a teacher who wouldn't agree to help you

So I entered my schedule request, and on that same day my failing grade rises 20 points, but it's like an almost-passing-average grade (60's)! I'm just exasperated now X___X, but I tell myself that it's too late to re-change my schedule.

I guess you can improve a lot if you participate in some educational activity. There are many activities that can help you gain focus and sharpen your mind.
