So ill start from the beginning i was living in nyc and working a part time retail job plus a housing allowance from the GI Bill now my GI Bill is finished and Ive decided to move back to my hometown in Texas to continue school since its free. So heres where it gets complicated I don’t know if I really want to go back to school its always been hard because of my bipolar I would pass my fine art classes and fail most other classes. Im not sure if I really want to do college anymore because now I have to work full time enough money to support myself AND go to school OR live at home pretty much for free and go to school but I DONT want to live at home Ive always been very independent (although my mom would love it) ON TOP of all this I can’t find a job that pays enough even full time for me to get an apt because you have to make 3x the rent so i would have to rent a room. Im grateful I had an interview for a well paying beauty consultant job today but its only 17 hrs a week if I do get it and so i would need another job, this Interview was 3 hrs away btw! lol honestly I don’t know how many times I can drive back out there.
I really need to get away from craps job but Im not good at anything but art and makeup.Ive been thinking about graphic design again but these days you need to know web design and Im not computer savy enough to learn it, I struggled with the adobe software ( tho I was VERY depressed when I was in school for this)…Sometimes I think I should say “F” all this and move back to NYC and just get a job there and live in a room for $650…I miss NYc…Sorry if this is long and confusing…

IM just in a rut right now I don’t know where I should live and if I should go back to school and I have no income right now ANY advice would be helpful thanks so much guys!! Also I’m going to be 28 soon and that upsets me greatly!uuggghhh!! I HATE MY LIFE!!!!!!!!

Would you be able to afford to live in NYC without the housing allowance? Your post sounds iffy about desire for classwork. Is school only free in Texas, for you? Can you study in New York? If your heart isn't in something, you're less likely to put forth effort.

Thanks for your reply yes my schooling is only free in Texas. If I wanted to go to school in NYC i would have to take out loans and I don't think its worth it. when i can go for free
Thanks for this!

Sorry to hear this artsygirl

Without being dismissive I had some incredibly mundane jobs whilst studying after school - none of them which I liked at all (I can think of some I hated) whilst working towards my degree so ughhhhhh I feel your pain

Moving back in with parents isn't necessarily a joy after you've had this independence for so long.

I'll be holding thumbs for you that you do get the job where you had the interview; even if it means that you have to supplement it with another job ....

Let us know how you go!
