So my problem here is meeting projects/homeworks' deadlines. I always feel like i can't start doing a project until it's a day before its deadline, then that causes stress, which then makes me unable to do my other work.
And no matter how much i force myself to start a project early, i can never do it. The only projects i've done well on, were group projects, and the only reason for this is that i don't want to make my group members miss a deadline because of my late work. Other than that, i'm always late on individual projects. Some of you might say that i should always work with a group, but i can't always do that since we have to do individual work as well. And i also feel like i can't manage my time no matter what i do. And i always feel like i'm wasting time, and that causes me to worry about time, and when i worry about time i feel restless and unable to work efficiently. Does this make sense to anyone? because i feel like i can't explain it that well. So, any university student, or anyone who's been through a similar situation, what do you suggest to make this problem better? |

I can understand your problem. You need to prioritize your work and set the time table accordingly. It will help you manage time in an efficient manner.

Sxll, i hear you about individual work. however there is nothing to say you cannot have an individual study partner to bounce things off. What you need is accountability. YOu have it in the group setting where you don't want to let them down but somehow you feel you as a person is different that it doesn't matter. It does, get someone's number on the phone and discuss needing someone to help motivate you for study: even the teacher or professor if necessary. this is a far more common problem then you think, especially if you have any personality disorders. Blessings and tc

Because i know that i have an anxiety disorder, but then i feel like i've developed some other disorders along with it, but i'm not exactly sure what. So were you just saying that generally, or does what i described above sound like a specific personality disorder? |

If you can complete your work in groups, then you could do the same alone. Perhaps do your coursework at the school library or local library because sometimes it can be difficult to do it at home. Do your work bit by bit each day (depending how much time you have for it).

Set some time aside each week to go to the library and just work. Just make it an appointment you have to keep. It doesn't have to be a library, just anywhere where you can get work done.
Meeting with your professor or TA is also a good idea. Make an appointment with them, and make yourself see it as a deadline for a rough draft. |

No matter if I say I wot forget a about an assignment.. I do! I have a planner I use. I'm going digital and using my phone, which syncs to my calendar etc. I'm on my phone a lot and have front page post it note reminders or important dates.
I used to stay at the library until Sunset. I did try the school counselor. I needed structure. please DO NOT quote ANY SELECTION of my post. thank you. have a good day. |
