So I've been doing this course now for 3 or 4 months and I've been doing good in everything but the maths and the anxiety was so bad. That I gained weight and when the doctor did my blood tests my cholesterol was really high he asked me if I drank I don't but now I'm certain that it was from the anxiety that my cholesterol was very elevated. When I went to see a naturopath at the shops about my cholesterol I asked what can I do about it she said less stress and then told me bergamot capsules. I'm not sure how to deal with the stress of not understanding long division it's the only part of the maths that I'm struggling with but it's messing me up. I wish I could be okay about it but I'm not even my Tudor has never done long division before and he's meant to be helping me I don't know how to feel and I want to cry. It's awful

For long division, you have to know your multiplication times tables. Also you have to guess a lot. But if you guess wrong, your work will tell you! So then you just start over again. Just dont worry about getting it right the first time. Just keep re-doing it with a different guess until you get it right. Practice, practice, practice!

I think it would help if your tutor was familiar with long division himself. Can you ask for a tutor who can teach you it?
Thanks for this!

Perhaps think about going over material aimed at kids on long division and see if that helps. I know it sounds patronising but theres lots of channels doing long division aimed kids/teens. Give a watch.

Are you just doing regular long division of two numbers or long division of polynomials? I’d say that even though it’s still being taught, you can manage without it. Are you required to do it as aren’t allowed a calculator?
