We don't have a specific forum for learning disabilities, but we DO have a Disabilities & Chronic Disorders forum. You're also more than welcome to post in this forum too.

Are you talking about finding resources on this website to deal with having a learning disorder?

This is the best option, it talks about Learning Disabilities: http://psychcentral.com/disorders/learningdis.htm

There are also these links/places:
http://psychcentral.com/resources/Di..._Disabilities/
http://psychcentral.com/resources/Disability/
http://psychcentral.com/resources/Disability/Articles/

If you're talking about other disorders that can be "in conjunction" with a diagnosis of a learning disability...
-ADD/ADHD is a big one: http://psychcentral.com/lib/2007/an-...ction-to-adhd/

I have a learning disability (affecting short term memory, writing, reading and mathematics) and a physical disability (Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus) and a couple of psychological disorders to boot.

This is the list of disorders that information is given on here:

thanks, my ld effects my math skills for the most part. Actually to be quite truthful, i don't know a whole lot about it. I know it's not ADD/ADHD,it's something else. I am going to do testing to learn more. My t works in a pratice, so i'm gonna do the testing in that pratice. I woulden't do the testing with her, but with someone else there and then i would meet with my t and whoever did my testing(and maybe one or both of my parents) to discuss the results and learn more about my ld. Thanks again!

Hey Danixomarie,

Just wanting to say your problems in Maths could be due to a Learning Disability called Dyscalculia. I am a possible Dyscalculic but have never been tested

Anyways hope this helps you?

I'm a teacher of students with all kinds of disabilities, especially learning disabilities. I've worked at a mental health facility and many of my students there had learning disabilities along with various mental issues. If you have any questions or anything I would be happy to help.

Some assessments are specifically marketed as dyscalculia tests. It is possible, however, for evaluators to determine if a child has dyscalculia and learning disabilities in math through general types of diagnostic math assessments, reviews of student work, and cognitive assessments. Whatever assessment is used, it is most important that evaluators identify the specific deficits affecting your child's math abilities to enable teachers to develop appropriate instruction to address those problems.

well all I can say is if you have good or great grades, doesn't mean you can't have a learning disability!!! for example right now a have a 4.0 gpa and I am a freshman in high school.. even though I am dyslexic I can still make good grades anything is possible and you just have to know how to get around and half fix your problems..ex I can read stuff off the board and go to copy it down and copy it wrong like in algebra I just have to double check it. so just a thought (:
