I graduated... kinda...

Yesterday was commencement, which I walked in... that was fun. Wish I didn't have so much hanging over my head still! An exam I didn't turn in yet... I don't know if he'll accept it when I do get it done... 3 incompletes I have to get done by tomorrow or Tuesday, at the VERY latest, 2 more incompletes I'm taking for this semester, an internship I need to find for the summer, and I need to apply for grad school. I don't know if I can get this done in time... I'm not worried about the 2 new incompletes... I have plenty of time for them, but the rest of this I'm really concerned about! I feel really fake going through commencement and having grad announcements when I haven't finished and don't know for sure that I will. And I care what my profs think about me... I'm afraid of them thinking I'm irresponsible and immature...

Well, congratulations...kinda...!

Make up your incomplete courses, get it done & off your plate. It'll be a good thing and you will feel a sense of accomplishment like you've never felt before. You've made it this far...this last little bit is a piece of cake!

Don't worry about your professor's opinions unless you intend to use them as references. What matters most is what you think of you...give yourself an even break and wrap things up so you march again!

And it's great that you care what your profs think of you. And that you intend to go on to grad school!

Those are very good incentives to get it together and make it work. Make a plan rigt now, and stick to it. Do not get on the internet for fun except for a 15 minute break each time you finish ONE of the six things you need to accomplish. And leave the grad school stuff till the end! Prioritize! What's due by Tuesday the latest? Get them done first. List the others in order of importance.

It's time to put the petal to the metal and burn some midnight oil. We've all had to do it, and you've got good reason to do so; for your family; your profs and most important, for yourself!

Your life is about to begin. Begin it with your head held high. Accomplish your dreams! You *can* do this!

I didn't get them done. I don't know what to do now. I failed a class that's only offered this semester, the prof's not even here in the summer. And I didn't get the rest finished on my incompletes from last semester... I don't think I can pass with what I turned in... maybe one, if I'm lucky. Another one I've signed up for for the summer, but the other won't be offered again until the fall. And if I didn't pass that first one, it's not offered again until fall 2010.

Ugh! It's my stupid doctor's office... I was on a med that was helping me get my work done, but they messed up with their records and I haven't had it... and whatever's wrong with my head from that ECT...

So I don't think I can meet my graduation requirements at all this year now... I already walked in commencement, and ordered a class ring, and received some gifts, and told people I was graduating. I might be able to satisfy requirements with some replacement courses... but I don't know what effect those fails will have on my GPA without re-taking them, or the effect that would have on getting accepted into the grad program any time before winter 2011. I feel so ashamed I didn't get it done... and my parents think I did... I want to hide this from them, make them think I finished when I didn't... I wouldn't be able to pull that off unless I can finish by the end of the summer... maybe I could, if I can take internship credit as an ANT minor on the same internship I find for my major... which might be a possibility... I'm figuring this out and searching options as I type this out, as you might have guessed. I'll be seeing the head, the prof for the class I might have barely passed, when she gets back from lunch... maybe she can help me figure it out...

It's really nice to type this out... feels better to see a possibility, guess I'll find out soon if it's feasible...

I'm hopeing for the best for you.
Have you got a 504? With your medical problems, it would seem you should have. If not, do you have an IEP? The latter is more specific than the former but, both are based in federal law.
Please look into it. These are educational accomodations due to your medical condition.

If all else fails, blame the institution. I was supposed to graduate in June, but I flunked basically all my classes this year. I don't get to graduate since I need .5 of a credit (ONE class) before that... so I don't get to graduate until November now. I told my parents that the school messed up, and that I'm missing one optional credit because of a mixup. Not a great thing to lie to the 'rents, but if it helps deal with their criticisms... well, I guess it's your decision ultimately.

I'm sorry you didn't get everything done, but try not to be too hard on yourself. You're not the first person to get this close and find out that things got a lot more complicated.
