I just stumbled across a very interesting blog post about what happy people do that helps them be happy people: http://www.marcandangel.com/2011/08/...o-differently/

The thing that I found most interesting about this list is that during the rare periods of remission from symptoms and when I'm in a more or less "normal" mood state, I do all of these things! (Well, not exactly on #11, but I think my deep and meaningful sense of connection to the natural world counts and it's as spiritual as this scientist is gonna get...) I'm actually a pretty happy person when my brains aren't all bonkers, but I lose my grip on most of these practices pretty quickly during mood episodes.

Anyway, it seemed like something worth sharing, and a good reminder that we can practice skills that will help build a happier outlook on life.
Thanks for this!

With the exception of #11, if I could put a couple of other issues to rest I could probably accomplish more on that list.
Thanks Ani

Good read. Of the 12 points, I only do 1 semi-consistently. Shouldn't shock you that I'm far from happy. How many points do the rest of you do?

It is a good list. It surprised me the things that I do do, the things that I struggle with, and some the things that I tend to ignore in my life. This was helpful. Thanks for sharing it.

Great little article - thanks! When I'm working really hard, all but #7 are things I do. It's when I falter that I forget or don't have the motivation to do the things on this list. Good reminder.
