Hi there,

A brief rundown on I, I have anxiety, depression, sever social anxiety, bipolar, border line personality disorder, dyslexia and short memory lost since a child not very server tho I think, slight OCD, negative self image can't remember what "they" call that.

I've been trying to find ways to deal with the social anxiety I get scared in large crowds even small ones if its a bad day feel as tho every1 is always looking and judging me so a few months ago I was talking to a work mate about just general thing then we got onto drift tricking, sounded really cool and fun so I started to build my own from old bmx parts I found on a free site, half built that then my work mate gave me his old one he wasn't using, used it a few times just on my lil street that has a half decent hill.
I thought I could maybe use the trike to help me with my social anxiety I have a bit of trouble starting conversations and the like so I figured I'd customise it so I would have something to keep me busy, something to be creative with and so maybe I could use it as a conversation piece if I take it out. So I went down to the local hardware store bought some cheap spray paint and painted it up 3 tone RASTA then went and got some light for it as well.
It had been sitting downstairs for a month or so and I decide to take it out on the Easter weekend just down to the shop for a few things. My plan worked when I came back out side from grabbing a few thing from the shop there were a bunch of people hanging around it smiling, joking and talking about it to each other, at first I thought stuff this it was free and only cost me bout $15 for paint and 13 hours to paint it, it cost me a lot of time but not much cash I thought then I realised this was silly and besides they all seen me on my way out, so I started to walkover to it and everyone was like WOW that so cool, how did you make it, how long did it take etc. So my plan worked I took it out again yesterday Easter Sunday and was getting compliments and people yelling lets say words of encouragement made me feel really good about myself and what I had created. I'm still finding it hard to go out side and into public but I feel as tho if I have my trike people may be looking and judging it instead of me and if they do want to talk or chat I pretty much know what they'll be asking about which will at least start to get comfortable around people and when asked questions. So small steps, gotta crawl b4 u walk even in public when your a adult.
I will have another post soon with small steps i'm trying to take in talking to people and making my/yourself comfortable with stranges and I public.
Thanks for this!
