I know we are all reaching out, and we can befriend each other, in this cyber world. But, what about a buddy connection type thing ? I've had many responses at times, but sometimes it's too hard to be positive. Reply back, when there's no change. What about a log on, see who was bothered, really, and just buddy up. Check , on each other ? Like a 'who's looked at you' ' Listened' type thing. Then make a buddy ? Just my thoughts. It's so huge here, a buddy, might work !

Sounds interesting, although I'm not really all that sure as to what you're suggesting. xD

Sounds like an "adoption" that another forum I go to uses. It's mainly for newbies to help them feel welcome and show them the ropes, however many long lasting friendships have come out of this system of looking after each other.

Well, I don't know how it would work. But I'm not a new poster. Just an idea if we could find a buddy, like checking in, see how you're doing. Sometimes this ocean is so, so big, a hand up, however small, grabs you.
It was just an idea. Sometimes , I would like that hand, in this ocean. Thank you for your replies

I like this idea too!!!! I would be willing and available to "Buddy" with someone.
We actually did this at a place that I worked. It was called "angel buddies" and it worked well, and was a very positive experience for all of us.

I like the idea. I'm not sure how it would work, though I'm sure there's a way.

Newbie here, Perhaps we can all start with an introduction, starting with you Ladyzero. We all tell a bit about ourselves, perhaps in the order we began posting in this thread and then give one another feedback (I guess if someone has signed out, the next person logged in can post).

Well I won't bore you. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm just misery~soup. A right miserable old witch ! I suffer with chronic depression, and am terribly lonely. Spending all day, every day in bed, mostly. Check out my profile. I post quite a lot here too, and try to support others, as I receive so much here. Especially when desperate, for human contact. I go weeks, no months, literally seeing no one, except the local shop workers. Sad. Anyway, welcome !

Does it have cream cheese frosting? Did you add raisins?

I am really interested in this. I could use a buddy right now while going through all my medical things, and I tend to be a good listener. This sounds like a great idea.

Love this Idea. Kinda like a sponsor from AA? ( just an example ) who you can call or message when you need support?
Thanks for this!

Yeah, that's how I was seeing it. Like trusting support from both parties.

If anyone is interested in buddying with me you can send me a PM. I really don't bite, my joints are just pointy.

Ok so here's my twopence worth. I guess the buddy idea is an extension of friends. Most people that know me on here know that i am pretty friendly ( i hope) and maybe some would say over friendly. Some friends i don't hear from for weeks at a time others maybe don't respond to a message for whatever reason. So a buddy could be a friend that you say 'good morning hows it going' to and 'good night hows was your day' every day. For a lot of people ( me included) it would be nice to think that you mean something to someone and that they care about you ( albeit online). Also tagging my other idea an extension to that could be for people who live close enough to meet to help each other irl too. Then this would really be altruism in a practical sense. Good bloke Al, Truism.
Thanks for this!
