Okay, so this is my first time posting. I've been a recovered anorexic for a while. I've been suffering a lot more lately through the recovery process. I've gained some more weight than I'd like to admit and I hate who I see when I look in the mirror. I've grown out of most of my clothing, only fitting into sweat pants and old shirts that are hand me downs. I'm married and my husband tells me I look great but I don't see it. I hate my body more than I ever did. I'm not sure if this feeling well ever go away and I just want to look in the mirror and like who I am and how I look.

Go buy good clothes that fit now. Pack the hand-me-downs and take them to Goodwill. Report back to the thread to be accountable.
This would be the first step and it is necessary. Do that without delay. |

I wil. Thank you. It's hard especially since I don't make enough money to get new clothing. My parents agreed to help though

Great. Also, as I have figured out by trial and error, cheaper stores vary a whole lot by location. Say, not all Ross stores are the same - they get shipments from local department stores, so a Ross store in a more expensive neighborhood would have a better selection (not more expensive, though).
Thrift stories near high income areas have good selection, too, thanks to those women who only wear a new outfit for one season. Finally, Target has decent clothes at very reasonable prices, and they have a 90 day return policy so you can take something home to try and decide later. Ross has a 30 day policy and in my area Ross is very crowded with long lines while Target is not. More than you ever wondered! |

Consignment stores, especially those in more affluent areas, are a good place for some decent clothes. Some items, never worn, or maybe tried on at home. It's like taking advantage of someone elses compulsive shopping habits.
![]() Talking designer brand names, with quality fabric designed to last. When on a tight budget and in need of items, classic styles, with quality fabric will last a while, until you are in a better position to purchase newer clothes. Just a piece or two, of what you need, to start. Couple pairs of pants/jeans, shirts. Look for styles that you can live with, and start seeing the new, healthier body. ![]() |

Oh, consignment stores to benefit from compulsive shopping by affluent ladies - I like the idea!
