Anyone use apps for self-help?
I use one to keep track of my clean time (calculates by year, month, hour). And I used to use Good Day Bad Day to keep track of how I was doing but that stupid app stopped working again... grr... Wonder if anyone else has some favorites? I think our dependency on technology and our obsession with tracking ourselves can be problematic. But I also think that sometimes they can be useful... |

Thank you for your post! Since I read it, I just downloaded an app to keep track of how long I haven't smoked!

It isnt really a self-help app the way the others are but I do use selfcontrol to limit time on the internet. Either on the internet entirely or on specific websites... turning it on now! (I just really wish there was one for the phone)

For charting my ups and downs I used to use optimism online. It has got an iPhone app and a website. It also tracks your sleep patterns and coping

I used My Fitness Pal until I discovered CravingtoQuit. I hope to start using fitness Pal again, I just don't want to get obsessed with it this time.
CravingtoQuit did what it was designed to do, but I still check in 2 times a day at least. I am looking for a good mindfulness practice app.

I tried Happier. It was pretty cool--it was like Facebook with a Whisper interface, loosely. You post something that makes you happy and it HAS to be reasonable and uplifting in the traditional sense (hey, there are some crazy peeps on the interwebs, just being Captain Obvious >-<). It is pretty helpful when looking back and seeing that the small moments in life make us the happiest, or should.
