That may improve my life and my mood.

As I mentioned in my introduction post, I have severe anger issues and I hate the human race.

What I didn't mention is that on top of that, I suffer from depression.

I refuse to go to therapy right now because I already have enough on my plate... and medical insurance happens to not be a part of that meal.

So here are two changes I'm going to make starting right now:

1. I'm going to make sure to contact my brother at least once a week.
2. I'm going to participate in more of the weird little events and groups that the shelter staff try to get me to participate in. I've already been a part of a weekly writing group, which has been fun and a bit liberating. Also, I went to a banquet this weekend that us shelter residents were all invited to at the last minute, and it's the best night I've had in months. Damn near changed my whole ******* perspective on life - pun intended; I almost got converted to Christianity.

So next time they say there's a picnic or a dance or whatever, if it sounds like something I could have enjoyed back when my life still had meaning, then I'll go.

And I'm never going a whole week without speaking to my brother.

I'll check in when an event comes up or when I've spoken to my brother and talk about how it's changed - or not changed - my life/mood.
Hugs from:

sounds like a good plan, and you're not the only person who hates human's too, I'm a fellow human hater and much prefer the company of animals, and feel jealous that I wasn't born as a domestic dog.

I wouldn't have minded being born as a wild dog. Especially if I were somehow let loose onto a crowded sidewalk.

I went to my brother's house on Friday. I was there for less than five minutes but it was worth it. There were a lot of bags packed at his house. I hope him and his girlfriend aren't about to break up. I hope it just means they're cleaning/renovating the place or just about to move into another, better place.

I didn't really attend any more special events at the shelter but on Saturday, I hung out with a friend I made there and had a wonderful time. While we were hanging out, there was a pre-Thanksgiving event at the church around the corner that a lot of the other women from the shelter went to. We did make it there about an hour after the event was over, and picked up some leftover food.

I almost forgot about this thread. Well, I hung out with my brother and his girlfriend the other day. Everything seems to be fine except he was having eye problems. My niece is endearing as always. Next time I see my brother, I should give him something instead of asking for something.

Life at the shelter has been uneventful, except for the usual drama and aggravation, most of which I've managed to stay out of. That's about as good as it's gonna get in that place. They've had a few groups going on but they're so tacky. Oh, but we did have good Thanksgiving events.

Glad to hear things are going well. I think posting your goals helps you to stick to them. Good idea!
